I'm passionate about building things that real people can use. I'm passionate about finding a job where I'm part of a team that does things the right way, from start to finish. I'm passionate about making my career worthwhile.
Although I've spent most of my professional career using PHP/MySQL in the back end, and jQuery in the front end (alongside HTML and CSS of course), I don't want to necessarily advertise myself as a full stack web developer. I'd like to think that I break things down abstractly enough to call myself an engineer and that I can adapt to any kind of code base. I think I'm able to be part of a team as a leader or a follower.
At a personal level, I'm a laid-back, fun kind of guy. I'm able to turn off tech speak and communicate at a client level when necessary.
I listen to 2 or 3 tech podcasts per day to keep up with trends in the industry. I feel like I have an entrepreneurial spirit. I'm a developer that realizes things like marketing, design, copy and brand are just as important (or more important) than the actual product.
Lately, I've been throwing MVPs together to see what will stick and grab my attention. I've also been trying to modernize my Java skills, using newer frameworks like Dropwizard.
