Responsibilities included overseeing subcontractor schedule to maintain owner completion dates, managing the construction budget and buyout schedule, monitoring the project for quality control and safety compliance, and maintaining a relationship with a longtime client of Turner. From July 2012 to August 2013 (1 year 2 months) Engineering Intern @ Engineering intern at the CDC Building 24 project in Atlanta, GA. Responsibilities changed with time and experience and included:
- Collecting, organizing, and submitting application to certify the $90MM project for LEED Silver with the USGBC. This task included meetings with the LEED Architect, gathering information from subcontractors, and verifying that credits were accurately covered per the detailed USGBC guidelines.
- Tracking RFIs from design team, updating drawings with changes, and submitting new issues with full backup.
- Working with engineering team as new issues and tasks arose to collect data and analyse possible solutions.
- Tracking and updating the commissioning process with the mechanical engineer to maintain project closeout dates with the owner.
- As the project moved towards day two work, responsibilities shifted to include working in the project budget, composing approval letters to owner and subcontract change orders to subs. Learned how to balance and audit a budget using the Prolog system while tracking holds, contingency, and project earnings. From August 2010 to May 2012 (1 year 10 months) Superintendent Intern @ Assisted Project Engineer and Project Superintendent with daily tasks in the build of the Gwinnett Technical College Life Science Building. Focused on processing submittal packages from subs to design team, managing and tracking progress onsite, and managing jobsite documents such as DCRs, RFIs, and design changes. From May 2010 to August 2010 (4 months)
