đź“– Summary
Principal Product Manager @ Tempo Automation San Francisco, CAPrincipal Product Manager @ ThousandEyes During a brief stay at ThousandEyes, I helped the team find clarity. From October 2019 to January 2020 (4 months) San Francisco, CASenior Product Manager @ AppDynamics AppDynamics makes Application Performance Monitoring tools for high-scale environments. It is trusted by the world’s largest e-retailers, banks, airlines, streaming services, and others who increasingly reach their customers through internet services and whose businesses increasingly run on software. It was acquired by Cisco in May 2017 for $3.7 billion.• Performed detailed research to identify a market opportunity in a key segment of our customer base, put together a comprehensive product plan to pursue it, and executed on the plan: we shipped a new product, several iterations on existing products, and foundational re-architecture work on our platform, delivering $16mm in new revenue in the first year alone. Presented to senior leadership on the importance of pursuing this market segment, which led to doubling of team headcount.• Identified a broad shift in market expectations among our customer base; performed research and analysis to determine its causes and predict its evolution; and worked with folks in many orgs including all layers of the engineering stack, architecture, sales engineering, customer support, and product management to define a comprehensive plan to address this broad shift. Worked directly with CPO to put together a full-stack engineering team led by me to execute on the plan. Shipped a new key feature & several iterations which secured several $1mm+ at-risk renewals in just the first quarter.• Researched the deployment and configuration experience across the product, identified opportunities to dramatically decrease time to value & total cost of ownership of our product, brought senior leadership on board with goals, and put together a comprehensive product plan to achieve the goals which was rolled out at a company-wide event by our exec team.• Trained 200+ new hires by giving Product Knowledge 101 talk during onboarding sessions. From April 2016 to October 2019 (3 years 7 months) San Francisco, CAProduct Manager @ Uber Provided product insights by signing up as an Uber driver and giving rides around San Francisco, visiting a support center to talk with other drivers, answering support tickets, and participating in user research.Learned about the highly competitive global ridesharing industry, its financial backers, and their hypotheses for market domination; the cultural and legal differences in international markets that led the company to rethink some of its core assumptions in the pursuit of global expansion; and the nature of decision making in Silicon Valley's most data-driven, growth-oriented, and fiercely competitive company culture. From 2015 to 2015 (less than a year) San Francisco, CAAssociate Product Manager @ Google The APM program is a two-year rotational product management program started by Marissa Mayer and made up of about 30 recent graduates each year.• Launched multiple releases of News & Weather for Android, during which time usage grew 4x to over 80 million users.• Shipped gradually-rising alarm volume option to Nexus Clock app, a more pleasant way to wake up than a sudden alarm noise.• Shipped v1 of FM radio app for Android One (
