Netflix API is in the top 5 mostly used APIs in terms of internet traffic. Lead a team of 5 engineers. Plan the scrum 2 week deliverables with team members and project managers. Present the work plan in the coordinated meetings with partner teams. Identify integration dependencies and coordinate the deliverables. First developer on the Netflix API team and was responsible for the API design, implementation, planning and delivery. Designed, delivered and coordinated a major technology shift in moving the Netflix API services to the Amazon EC2 cloud which allowed us to horizontally scale up with the subscriber growth. Developed Netflix webservices api in REST. The API implementation was in Java, Oracle RDBMS, simple DB, Amazon EC2 and S3. Initially released as a public API, it was transformed to enable Netflix on a myriad number of devices like XBOX, PS3, Wii, iPhone, iPad etc. Used Hadoop for our logging infrastructure and evaluating Cassandra for the NoSQL solution. Coordinator for partner teams within Netflix which are the consumers of the API to deliver features in an scrum delivery methodology. Worked closely with various back end web service teams to define the architecture of the back end web services so that it could be flexibly consumed by the API. Lead the hiring for a rapidly expanding the team. Mentored the new hires on API design principles, best practices and code standards. Lead Engineer for the development of the social interaction for Netflix. From January 2007 to October 2013 (6 years 10 months) Senior Software Engineer @ Borland Distributed computing, Application Server Management, Visibroker Management, Databases, Test driven development, Agile Computing/Scrum. From August 2001 to December 2006 (5 years 5 months) Senior Software Engineer @ Travelocity/Sabre Holdings Website development for different features of the website for Travelocity.com, AA.com (American Airlines), Algorithms, Database administration/development - Oracle, Data warehousing using Oracle/Teradata, Business Intelligence using Cognos.
