About Me In 30 years of working in industry and business systems consulting I have done everything from product engineering and process design, production management and production planning, sales, procurement and even a bit of finance from both sides of the fence. I have worked within and with a wide range of industry sectors, in manufacturing and in service orientated companies and with a number of different solutions and technology but throughout my career, achieving growth and success to the businesses I work with has been my motivation.Operations Director @ As operations director at Percipient my role is to manage the delivery teams across the business working with my Quality manager, helpdesk team and project managers to keep customer service levels as high as possible. From January 2014 to Present (2 years) Managing Consultant @ As managing consultant at Venostic Business Advisory I work with my consulting team and associates to deliver system independent strategic advice to business on Information Technology. From February 2014 to October 2015 (1 year 9 months) Chief Technical Officer @ As Chief Technical Officer of Venostic, my role is to use that experience to manage the Business Advisory division of Venostic, and to work closely with all of our partners, be they software, services, suppliers or customers to bring identify new challenges and deliver innovative new solutions for them. My team and I are here to deliver neutral advice on how to apply business systems to processes and deliver bottom line benefits to your company. Being able to deliver solutions from a product neutral stance, not with a particular product in mind and being able to work with customers where key decisions have not already been made is something which really excites me and I look forward to future engagements and the opportunity to deliver business advice to deliver bottom-line value to your businesses. From October 2013 to January 2014 (4 months) Business Development Director @ From 2003 - 2008 Percipient was founded in 2003, where my collegues and I decided to set up a new business 100% focussed on Oracle E-Business Suite in process industries. During this time, as well as managing the business, I've worked on a number of projects across Europe, where I have been used in specailist roles by Oracle due to my experience of working in the Life Sciences industry. I have provided consultancy in the design phase of projects in validated manufacturing projects for Oracle in Poland, the US and UK as well as a variety of implementations covering Order Management, Purchasing, Advanced Supply Chain Planning and Production Scheduling. From 2008 to 2010, I was working as pre-sales and solution arcitect for the company in system design for sales Since 2010, I have been doing Business Development, and we're now exploring how we can expand our capabilities and solutions to our industries. From June 2003 to January 2014 (10 years 8 months) Senior Consultant @ My work at Open included a number of projects including: 1) Support of Order Management at Honeywell Controls for Southern Europe. 2) A systems analysis project for a dairy company to identify their requirements for a new ERP and manufacturing system. From October 2001 to June 2003 (1 year 9 months) United KingdomSenior Consultant @ My initial role in the business was as part of the Maintenance management team, where I was part of a team that implemented maintenance management and procurement systems in a range of companies, including automotive Chemicals, Life Sciences and Nuclear My role covered project management, consultancy, training, data migration, testing and validation. Following this, when the company decided to get into SAP, I moved into that team, and became a certified SAP R/3 production and planning consultant. Although the company had difficulty in getting any SAP implementation projects, I spent 6 months as an interim stock planning manager for the UK Hydrographics office, an MOD establishment. The lack of any work in SAP, means I requested a transfer to the Oracle team, where there was more project work. I was a member of the implementation team for several projects covering planning, reports and data migration, but finally decided that a fresh start was needed. From June 1997 to October 2001 (4 years 5 months) Sunderland, United KingdomAssistant Production Manager (Wallsend) @ In order to develop my experience I switched from a role in the central engineering to working as part of the management team of a production site. Initially a 6 month secondment turned into 3 years and a variety of roles within the management team. Starting with replacing the site technical planner, where I learned the process mechanisms of the plant and developed a capacity planning process for ensuring good plant loading, and ensured we moved from 10% on time delivery to 98% on time delivery, as well as material procurement. The role developed into a coaching role in the enablement of self managed teams on the shop floor. The change from the traditional supervisor-shopfloor structure to cellular manufacturing was a major culture change and achieved significant process and efficiency gains. My role involved training, supporting and coaching of the team-leads, developing performance monitoring My eventual reason for leaving was due to a lack of potential career development, and I started to look for other roles within and outside the business, although I started to work on the team to develop the new ERP system, I was offered a role as a consultant and decided a change of direction was a good idea. From May 1994 to June 1997 (3 years 2 months) Engineer @ My first role on leaving University, the role was to orininally manage the implementation of a Shop Floor Data collection system for management reporting of production efficiency, but the project was put on hold due to financial constraints, and the role then evolved into a variety of projects for product and process development within the Bridon Group. I learned a lot about the manufacturing processes, selecting and working with suppliers to deliver projects. From August 1990 to May 1994 (3 years 10 months) Doncaster, United KingdomMBA, Master of Business Administration @ The Open University From 1992 to 1996 M.Eng, Materials Process Engineering @ The University of Sheffield From 1986 to 1990 Mangotsfield Comprehensive From 1979 to 1986 Paul Connelly is skilled in: Oracle Applications, Business Intelligence, Order Management, Procurement, Manufacturing, Process Mapping, Process Manufacturing, Discrete Manufacturing, Enterprise Asset Management, CMMS, Inventory Management, Business Process Improvement, Computer System Validation, Compliance, ERP
