📖 Summary
Interested in opportunities to research innovative solutions to problems in data mining, machine learning and deep learning, and to build products/services/platforms that have high impact.Research Assistant @ Anomaly detection in large, dynamic networks. From September 2014 to December 2014 (4 months) Software Engineering Intern @ Worked on Mailbox From June 2014 to September 2014 (4 months) San Francisco Bay AreaResearch Assistant @ Worked on highly parallel algorithms for in-memory large graph processing. From January 2014 to June 2014 (6 months) Teaching Assistant @ CS 107 From September 2013 to December 2013 (4 months) Software Developer @ Worked with Funf.org, an open source library for building Android apps that collect sensor and user generated data and allow you to store, upload and analyze it seamlessly. Added new features for automatically recording audio, video and image data on your Android device. Focused on improving the scheduling capabilities of the Funf library, to allow data collection in response to user events. For example, take a picture of the user just after a call is disconnected, or record the accelerometer reading when the device is in motion. From June 2013 to September 2013 (4 months) Software Engineering Intern @ Worked with machine learning systems and performed analysis of large scale data using distributed algorithms to explore issues in text classification and disambiguation systems From May 2012 to July 2012 (3 months) Greater Los Angeles AreaSoftware Developer @ Point Clouds Library: “Benchmarking Feature Descriptor Algorithms” Developed a framework for automated benchmarking of algorithms that extract features from 3D point clouds Used C++ template classes and abstraction mechanism to ensure extensibility of framework over multiple algorithms Gathered runtime statistics of existing algorithms over real-world datasets, to answer complex questions regarding efficiency and usability of the algorithms From May 2011 to August 2011 (4 months) Research Intern @ Implemented a greedy algorithm for approximating a union of balls using balls centered on the medial axis and analysed the worst case performance of the algorithm on real protein molecules. Worked with the open source graphics library CGAL for low-level graphics primitives. From May 2011 to July 2011 (3 months) Nice Area, FranceMaster of Science (MS), Computer Science @ Stanford University From 2013 to 2015 Bachelor of Technology (BTech), Computer Science & Engineering, 9.83/10.0 @ Indian Institute of Technology Bombay From 2009 to 2013 Higher Secondary Certificate, Computer Engineering (Vocational) @ AV Patel Junior College From 2007 to 2009 Pararth Shah is skilled in: C++, Java, Python, JavaScript, PHP, Machine Learning, Data Mining, Parallel Computing, Distributed Systems, Hadoop, Mahout, Weka, Android Development, R, Lucene
