I graduated with a double major from the University Of Wisconsin-Milwaukee in Spanish and Community Education & Engagement. I have been working in the non-profit area since before graduating High School. I graduated with a double major from the University Of Wisconsin-Milwaukee in Spanish and Community Education & Engagement. As I continue to work in the Non-Profit sector I expect to gain more knowledge to be able to help the Milwaukee Community. My ultimate goal is to be the director of a Non-Profit organization. I worked at the UWM Alumni Association, serving the needs of our UWM Alumni. Currently, I am serving the students of Milwaukee Public Schools through a national educational non-profit called City Year.
Senior Impact Manager @ From July 2015 to Present (4 months) MilwaukeeProgram Manager @ The Program Manager is responsible for driving the successful implementation of the Whole School Whole Child service model by building and cultivating strong school partnerships and developing a team of committed, idealistic leaders and school practitioners. The Program Manager plays a crucial role in leading a team of Corps Members through a ten-month long journey of learning, reflection and service in schools (civic action) that builds Corps Members' civic capacity and civic identity. From July 2013 to June 2015 (2 years) Team Leader @ Team Leaders are school based senior corps members who lead team initiatives such as school related projects and community engagement. In addition they support their Program Manager in maintaining sustainable school house relationships and service delivery. Throughout the service year they work with their teams to provide peer coaching in increasing their service delivery and navigating their corps experience. From July 2012 to June 2013 (1 year) MilwaukeeCorps Member @ Beginning each day before the first school bell rings and staying until the last child leaves the after-school program; you’ll serve students, schools and communities through:
Academic Support: Provide one-on-one or small group tutoring before, during and after school
Attendance and Positive Behavior Encouragement: Lead energetic morning greetings, make attendance and positive phone calls to home, lead mentor groups
Community and School Improvements: Organize and lead activities, celebrations and projects to improve the community and school environment
Team-based service is at the heart of City Year. You will be assigned to a diverse team of 8-15 young adults and you will serve with that team for the duration of the year. From August 2011 to June 2012 (11 months) milwaukeeOffice Assistant @ The Office Assistant performs responsible, general clerical and administrative support work requiring accuracy, attention to detail, organizational skills, and computer knowledge. Duties include such tasks as answering telephones, greeting the public, typing, word processing and filing. Work involves the exercise of independent judgment, initiative, flexibility and effective interpersonal skills to work with co-workers and the general public From February 2008 to July 2011 (3 years 6 months) Teller @ Perform transactional duties to serve members by receiving or paying out funds with high accuracy. Maintain accurate transactional records. Provide cash receipt and payment services
in accordance with bank policies and procedures. Present and explain a basic number of bank products and services to members. Requires an ability to communicate effectively with prospective and current members and to represent the bank in a positive
and professional manner. From February 2007 to August 2007 (7 months) President @ Each year approximately a dozen students participate in running the bank as part of a internship program. With each new class, a President, Vice President(s), and a Board of Directors are chosen from the students.
Under the tutelage of a teacher and the Mitchell Bank staff, the students are responsible for marketing the bank, opening accounts, establishing budgets, balancing the vault, and conducting transactions for their customers.
