Cambridge, MA USAVP Engineering @ Exploros Exploros is a cloud-based, mobile education platform delivering deeply collaborative learning experiences that enable student mastery of 21st century skills such as teamwork, collaboration and critical thinking. Exploros gives students access to quality content combined with instructional approaches such as role play, peer instruction and other social learning methodologies that improve motivation, create a sense of ownership and lead to improved learning.In Exploros I led the engineering activities , Apart from a VP of engineering tasks , My responsibilities also included IT, architecture, coding, testing and support customers. On command Insight (former name SANscreen - $55M annual revenue, with up to $10M deals per customer), 2. On command Balance, an advance performance bottleneck and optimization analysis in the storage and VM environments.3. OPM: NetApp performance console - the next generation NetApp performance management.4. Bard: The next generation platform for all the rest of the management applications for NeApp (UM)5. On Command Report- a reporting engine for NetAppOPM, Bard , Balance and OC Report products reuse technologies from the SANscreen (insight) My responsibilities:• Manage development / QA teams cross two continental - 80 engineers, procedures, resources, budgets, development life cycles, support, product strategies, etc• On time with quality release management• Leading the design and architecture of the group’s suites of products• Innovation around processes, management , back office infrastructure and product roadmap• Working with customers include some of biggest financial institutes and enterprises in the world such as Citibank, Deutsche bank, Wall-mart, JPMorgan chase, Wal-Mart, Bank of America, Verizon, Wells Fargo, etc. personally advocate for two customers JPMC and Home Depot.Led the Insight product architecture to be the most scalable storage management solution in the market today with the ability to manage few data centers in one pane of glass, also its flexibility is unique in the market, it enable NetApp to react to customer bugs within few hours, and to add a new storage array or new switch to the support matrix in 4-8 weeks of one developer. From January 2008 to March 2013 (5 years 3 months) waltham , ma USADirector of Engineering @ Onaro inc. SANscreen, a leading service management, performance monitoring, change management and capacity management for SAN (Storage Area Network) and NAS (Network attach storage) domains. The SANscreen suites of products are storage management software that helps the storage admin group in large organizations to manage their storage. The suite of products includes support for auditing, monitoring (configuration, performance analysis, replication assurance, capacity planning, VMware storage management and more)SANscreen supports most of the switches / storages in the storage market, the product is agent-less and keeps history of all changes in the network. When I joined Onaro as Director of Engineering, we had 5 engineers, a half baked product and one customer (~$200K). Within 3 years we were acquired by NetApp and as such, grew to $15M in revenue, developed a very successful product, and made more than 100 customers happy. From June 2004 to January 2008 (3 years 8 months) Director of engineering / Section Manager @ Comverse Director for the Open Platform section in the Messaging division in Comverse. I lead 14 developers 8 QA engineers and a lab manager developing 3 different products.• Was hired as the first employee to build the open platform section from the ground up • Leading the products architecture design and requirements• Defining the group processes – development life cycle, unit test in code, builds procedures etc. (the performance evaluation process I developed is been widely used by groups in Comverse and Netapp today)• Coding and debug - solving problems / helping the development efforts (about 15% of my time)The products: • MARS: a generic media server, manage media services for the current and the future Comverse applications (support for VXML applications). MARS supports Comverse main application (Trilog – VoiceMail application) MARS Interfaces – with DSP cards for the telephony network (E1/T1), to signaling (SIP + SS7), File services like ASR, TTS, Web server etc. MARS was developed as an audio server for Trilog, due to company direction shift MARS was chosen as the next platform for video and converted to a more generic platform in two months• MTS: transcoding manager, convert audio and images (in the future video) between formats / codecs.• STRIMM: developed as part of a platform to stream and transcode (on-line) from e-mail and MMS servers to handsets clients –multi media files (MPEG4/2…). From August 2001 to June 2004 (2 years 11 months) Tel Aviv IsraelVP of engineering and CTO @ BrowseUp BrowseUp developed A generic platform that allows user to build smart WWW networks (dynamically learning links) of content on top of any web information. The idea was to separate the link DB from the content, the UI information in web pages for example Air force pilots / instructors can build layers of information that include video, audio, text etc, on top of an aircraft specification without changing the original document, without HTML knowledge , by using drag and drop capabilities and a standard browser – when the spec updated the system will adjust to the new UI page. users can filter / search / browse the information, or can add information if allowed.The product includes: A DB, an application server, search engine, applet (for viewers), upload server, Standalone mail server, advertising server, and a client (include plug-in to explorer) From September 1999 to July 2001 (1 year 11 months) Tel Aviv IsraelDevelopment Team Leader @ RadWare Developing a load balancer (based on a router) for TCP/IP protocols.And a generic web based management platform - Reduced the time to market on new releases of management console from few weeks to few hours From August 1997 to May 1999 (1 year 10 months) Tel Aviv IsraelSr Director of engineering @ Oracle Lead the Oracle Big Data Discovery studio group:Oracle Big Data Discovery is a game-changing product that makes Big Data assets more accessible to more business analysts across the organization.
