Teacher @ I am now teaching 4th grade Language Arts and Social Studies at McKinney Christian Academy in McKinney, Texas. From October 2013 to Present (2 years 3 months) Owner/Executive Producer @ Accomplished writer, video producer/director, and event AV producer with over 30 years experience. A consummate team player and communicator, I have directed teams large and small for decades in addition to being a strong individual contributor. Strong and long-lasting vendor relationships in all forms of media production. From February 2012 to Present (3 years 11 months) Director of Video and Event Production @ Led an in-house agency creative team developing all manner of print, online, and AV deliverables for the fastest-growing retail energy provider - and Inc. 500‘s #1 fastest-growing privately held company (2010) - in America. Voyager (now a division of Cambium Learning Group) produces award-winning reading and math intervention curricula for America's struggling students, grades K-12. Programs include a variety of publication and multimedia-based deliverables. I fine-tuned my skills in desktop publishing developing multiple products at a time. From March 2005 to August 2007 (2 years 6 months) Communications Director @ Directed and managed media and employee communications for the SRS family of companies in commercial real estate, finance, banking, and aviation. I functioned as the chief communications officer and wrote all speeches and articles for Founder and CEO. Managed various media output - video and print. Developed and/or implemented company web sites. Developed and implemented employee eNewsletter and print communications program. Created a variety of communications, event, and recognition programs for specific employee groups, including an independent consultant sales force of over 300,000. From June 2000 to March 2003 (2 years 10 months) Manager of Broadcast Communications @ Managed satellite television network broadcasting regular taped and live programming to over 2000 subscribers. The fastest growing company to $1b in revenue in American history at the time, Excel was also the 4th largest telecommunications company in America. I led a large AV team in production of a wide variety of audio and video content for broadcast and taped distribution to an active independent sales force of over 300,000. Also wrote, produced, and directed many of these projects. Managed all marketing and communications promoting the satellite television network. Produced and directed live conference events. From December 1996 to June 2000 (3 years 7 months) Manager AV Communications @ Managed internal video communications department developing a wide variety of AV content for both internal and external training, marketing, and communications.
Same position held from 1990 to 1992. From 1994 to 1996 (2 years) Producer/Writer/Director @ Consultant on contract (USAF) for the Royal Saudi Air Force's AudioVisual Print Directorate. Charged with analyzing current facilities and equipment (including 3-camera television studio), and overseeing development of a start-up style implementation plan. Secret security clearance obtained. From 1992 to 1994 (2 years) Video Communications Director @ Senior writer/director and manager for a worldwide video training and development operation. Sedco Forex, then a division of Schlumberger, Ltd and now called Transocean Offshore, was the world's largest drilling contractor, operating 150+ drilling rigs on every continent. From 1984 to 1990 (6 years) WDW Host @ Yes, that's right. While most of my college friends worked as waiters during the summer, I worked at Walt Disney World! My first year, I worked as a host at the Pirates of the Caribbean attraction (and yes, it is a lot like the movie - the treasure cave in the climax scene when Jack kills Barbosa is meticulously recreated at the end of the ride, for example). My second and thirds years I was a member of the Watercraft department and piloted Launches, Cruisers, and Ferryboats on the WDW waterway system.
