From October 2012 to April 2014 (1 year 7 months) Reno, Nevada AreaComputer Scientist @ • Part of the research team, developed, optimized, and tested computer vision algorithms used in the gaze tracking application, implemented in C++. • Test automation, designed and implemented a set of software and protocols for collecting data, generating ground truth data, automating quality and performance evaluation, and test reports generation, implemented in C#. From July 2011 to October 2012 (1 year 4 months) Reno, Nevada AreaPart-time Faculty @ Teaching Computer Science and Engineering courses at the Computer Technologies department. Courses I have taught: Introduction to Computer Engineering (CPE 201) Introduction to Software Development (CIT 128) Introduction to Information Systems (IS 101) From August 2009 to December 2011 (2 years 5 months) Graduate Research Assistant @ Research topic: An indoor navigation system for individuals with vision impairment. For this system three main components were developed: 1) Navigation Application: Utilizes the low accuracy sensors embedded in Android phones (compass and accelerometer), the user as a sensor (by periodic landmark confirmations), and Bayesian methods (particle filters) to locate the user in an indoor environment. 2) Map Generator: Visual tool for creating and augmenting the map of environment with landmark and addressing information. This component preprocesses the map and adds metadata to achieve real-time localization and path planning on the phone. 3) Ground Truth: Developed to collect data regarding user’s actual location. It uses a camera and a set of tags mounted on the ceiling to evaluate accuracy of the navigation application. From August 2007 to August 2011 (4 years 1 month) Part-time Faculty @ Teaching Computer Engineering courses at the Science, Math & Engineering department. From January 2010 to May 2011 (1 year 5 months) Teaching Assistant @ Prepared and delivered laboratory lectures, prepared and graded assignments and reports, and held office hours.
