Corporate Vice President - Technology @ As head of SaaS operations, I am responsible for scalability and security of platforms serving hundreds of thousands of users across Insurance Carriers, Banks, Credit Unions, BGAs/MGAs worldwide. The platforms include Life & Annuity, Property & Casualty, Health Insurance and Reinsurance exchanges where billions of dollars of transactions are conducted across the globe. Along with the application platforms, i am responsible for data exchange hubs linking various entities including Insurance Carriers, Broker Dealers, TPAs, Data Clearing and Settlement Corporations.
Serving as Chief Privacy Officer, I oversee and direct company-wide business and technology initiatives. From April 2010 to Present (5 years 7 months) Atlanta, GAVice President, Technology @ As a member of the senior management team, I contributed to the growth of the company. The revenue grew from $3.5 million to $25 million, and the employees grew from 15 to 350, serving clients scanning the globe from Canada to Japan.
Using Java, J2EE, Oracle, DB2, Websphere, WebLogic, Apache WebServer, and Tomcat, we developed highly scalable and customized enterprise applications capable of serving tens of thousands of users in companies such as Ameriprise, MetLife, Prudential, Guardian, Penn Mutual and RIAs/FAs.
I developed and executed strategies for integrating SmartOffice, paving the way for Platform as a Service (PaaS) and architected SmartXchange middleware for integrating SmartOffice with insurance carriers (e.g. Mass Mutual, Pacific Life, MetLife, John Hancock), broker dealers, investment firms, and independent software developers. With SmartXchange, integrated dozens of applications with SmartOffice, including EISI, MoneyGuidePro, MoneyTree, and MorningStar. I designed data aggregation server (DAS), a middleware that connected insurance/investment companies, data aggregators, and distributors. Using DAS integrated SmartOffice with DST, Pershing, DAZL, Albridge, Broadridge, CANNEX (Canada), and Kyodo Gateway (Japan).
I also launched 24x7 Network Operations Center (NOC) in India to support SmartOffice as a SaaS solution. I played an active role in pre- and post-acquisition activities, including technology/financial evaluation and product/personnel integration, completing a few acquisitions from 2000 to 2005. Worked with other senior management team members on multiple capital infusions to fund company’s growth to the next level. From January 1997 to March 2010 (13 years 3 months) Pasadena, CAApplication Architect/Senior Software Engineer @ I joined E-Z Data in 1991 as Senior Software Engineer and the first developer of the flagship product, Client Data System (CDS) for Windows. I supervised a team of 10 developers, handled hiring process, trained new developers, and established coding standards for the team.
