His entrepreneurial experience is broad. He ran a successful consultancy for over 3 years, and has advised and invested in multiple early stage startups. After co-founding Heartbyte and raising capital in 2011, he saw the company through to an acquisition in 2013.
Mike works with technology at all levels of the stack. He's been a Rails developer since 2005, before it hit 1.0. He's managed dedicated servers and installed servers in data centers. He's built CMSes in PHP, Python and Ruby. He's contributed to open source projects, and started a few of his own.

Implemented cutting edge visual designs for our clients with pixel perfection and user delight in mind. From December 2013 to December 2014 (1 year 1 month) Greater Atlanta AreaPrincipal Software Developer @ Playing a major role in architectural decisions as well as implementation of platform features, Mike conceived of and implemented much of the core platform.
Heartbyte was acquired in 2013. From September 2011 to November 2012 (1 year 3 months) Co-founder @ A really cool product that pushed the limits of realtime crowd interaction. Not really a startup but more of an idea that had to be created at all costs. Pivoted into a new venture called Heartbyte to focus on some of the key features that worked. Heartbyte was acquired by a third party in 2013.
Red5 for video streaming, JS (pop/push state for nav) CSS3 and HTML5 for UI. Actionscript and Ruby for realtime data transport. I worked on server configuration, continuous deployment, and all levels of software development. From February 2011 to September 2011 (8 months) Principal Developer @ Led development efforts for major accounts, implemented quality control processes, and trained junior team members in new technologies.
Built an Actionscript lighting promo piece for the Home Depot (linked below), countless internal pages for Coca-Cola (HTML/CSS), and the old World of Coca-Cola website. I wrote 100% of the HTML/CSS/JS/Actionscript for that. I also wrote the template HTML/CSS for NAPAonline.com (shown below). From June 2010 to July 2011 (1 year 2 months) Principal @ Built a Web contracting company from the ground up. Brought in satisfied clients I'd worked with at past jobs and learned a lot about business.
Primarily worked with PHP5 and MySQL on the backend, and XHTML/CSS/JS on the frontend. From May 2008 to June 2011 (3 years 2 months) Technical Director @ Developed and implemented simple processes for executing client projects and managed execution of client deliverables. From February 2010 to December 2010 (11 months) Senior Interactive Developer @ As Senior Interactive Developer at Brown Bag Marketing, Mike was responsible for creating Web sites that effectively utilized the very best of the latest technology and took Brown Bag's innovative campaigns to the next level.
Built Harland's corporate site (before they merged with Clarke), two microsites for Pfizer, and architected a web application for a charity organization. Also handled day to day website updates for existing clients. From July 2006 to June 2007 (1 year) Senior Web Developer @ During Mike's time at NeboWeb, he built two proprietary content management systems from the ground up, a few experimental internal tools, and several websites for NeboWeb's clients. He was the sole developer at NeboWeb in its infancy. There were a total of 5 employees at the time.

From August 2005 to September 2006 (1 year 2 months) Designer / Developer @ At Burning Tree Media, Mike gained valuable experience in PHP and general Web architecture. He built a proprietary CRM, a couple of other internal tools, and several webites for Burning Tree Media's clients. He also configured and managed a Linux dedicated server which at the time hosted around 50 clients. Mike was the sole developer at the company.
