I have been concerned with the research, development and application of models and techniques for energy prediction, improved design and environmental conditions in buildings. I have also carried out many investigations into the performance of various types of equipment, thermal behavior of materials and air movement patterns. until recently I held the position of visiting professor at the Department of Civil and Building Engineering at Loughborough University.
1968 - 1978 Head of System Performance and Control Unit BSRIA (formerly HVRA). Work included the development of thermal, acoustic and aerodynamic test procedures for BSI, covering Grills, Diffusers, fan coil units, cooling and heating coils induction units etc. Research into room air movement, in particular VAV systems. Research to determine the dynamic response of cooling coils. Computer programs to predict plant performance. General laboratory testing, in particular scale models for room air movement investigations (example Coutts Bank in the Strand)
