As a team lead of the team Portals, McEnroe was responsible for the development, upgrade and maintenance of the several websites that are used by DUO. These websites are used by universities and institutes to apply for funding and grants. Belastingdienst and Microsoft collaborated to work on a private cloud platform called Cumulus, to deploy all the applications used by the Belastingdienst. McErnoe's task was to learn and understand the new platform, configure the applications to be able to deploy onto Cumulus and then successfully deploy it.
During this project, McEnroe studied Cumulus and researched on how to configure the application to be able to deploy them onto the platform. As a team lead, he shared my knowledge with the new team, and coached them about the platform and deploying applications. He also coached the team in understanding Accelerated Delivery Framework (ADF), in which all the applications were built and prepare the team in maintaining the applications after their deployment onto the private cloud. Due to the planned reorganization in the business, PPG required a new application to support this change by centralizing the planning process of replenishment of the stock to their clients or warehouses. This projected required understanding the change in the business process, analyze the required functionalities of the new application and address the technical needs to develop the application.
As a technical lead, McErnoe, along with a system analyst, analyzed the business, functional and technical needs of the application and planned a development strategy, to deliver on-time a quality software, in this time critical project. They worked on the initial workshop that helped the team understand the requirements and prepare a report out to help the management plan a sound proposal that would meet the client’s functional and financial expectations.
During the development phase, he worked with a team to build this application, learning the framework of the client, actively participated in workshop with client to further analyze the requirements. The Belastingdienst uses several internal applications that help them in their day-to-day work. An upgrade to a new environment, indicated a need to rebuild these applications with latest Microsoft technologies that will be supported in the new environment. This agile project that consists of developing several applications for the client in a very short time interval, in a high-velocity and high-energy manner. To achieve this, several development teams were formed, consists of team members who are working onshore and offshore, working on applications, in parallel.
In this project, McEnroe worked as a senior developer, building use cases, reviewing work, training/coaching colleagues in ADP software developments. He worked as the linking-pin, coordinating the work between the onshore team in the Netherlands and the offshore team in India and ensuring a smooth working environment. The app developed is a Program Management tool, which supports strategic business programs. It visualizes roadmaps for a particular company or part of an organization, where the user can not only monitor and control the different programs and projects, but can also create the roadmap for capabilities and benefits. With this app, a program manager has the ability to give the latest status of a particular project in a memo video, which he can make via his iPad.
This application was built using C#, where MonoTouch was used to built the user interface of the application running on an iPad. In this project, McEnroe worked on developing a platform independent framework for mobile applications, using MVP architecture, that could be used for other mobile applications. The client requires a web application to advice the school leaders on the various trainings that they can undertake based on skills they possess or lack. The school leaders and other heads of the schools are asked to fill-in a questionnaire based on their role in the education system. This questionnaire is evaluated and the user is advised on the various trainings they can take to improve their professional career. The purpose of this project was to create a new visa application system for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, using the current visa application system as the basis. Reviva Group provides e-commerce facilities to its various telecommunication partners, for which, Reviva has several applications running both internally and externally, in order to facilitate their partners with the required services. As a consultant at Oikocredit, McEnroe worked with a team to build a multilingual web application that would be used for the administration of investments at Oikocredit. The project began with a phase that focused on specifying the functional design of the application. Conducted a feasibility study on CityGML (XML based) format to represent and visualize the extracted information from scanned images. During this study, it was found that CityGML in its present form needs to be extended to suit the needs of this client. Based on the outcome of this study, McEnroe designed an extension to CityGML. He also developed a system that would use the extracted information from the scanned images and represent this information in the new CityGML format.
