I am currently placed in the WebOps team at HMRC, supporting their Ubuntu-based infrastructure and looking for ways to increase automation through Puppet, Jenkins and Ansible. From June 2015 to Present (7 months) London, United KingdomInfrastructure Engineer (Tools) @ I support and managed TfL's UNIX and network monitoring using EMC IONIX (SMARTS) 9, Watch4net 6 and SCOM 2012, doing improvements and improving our Monitoring and Automation capabilities within TfL. Our IONIX implementation, which monitored over 4,000 hosts for performance and availability (and other customised monitoring based on requirements), was significantly bespoked in Perl and ASL, and was platformed on RHEL 5 and Windows 2008. I also work with Veritas SFHA using Cluster and Storage Foundation 6.1 and VOM server 5. I am an Oracle Certified Professional in Solaris 10, and Symantec certified in Storage Foundation 6. I am RHCE certified in RHEL 7, and proficient in Bash shell scripting. I have an intermediate level of Perl scripting skills which I have used to write and implement monitoring and automation solutions. I have experience of reconfiguring and supporting Red Hat Cluster (RHEL 6 High Availability). We use Solaris 10 zones on Veritas clusters as our main virtualisation technology. We also use RHEL 5 and 6 VMs on various VMWare infrastructure. I work with EMC VNX and DMX SAN arrays to configure storage on the UNIX side.
