📖 Summary
CEO/COO/President @ CloudShield Technologies Inc. After three years of flat sales and losing money (-$24M, -$45M, -$32M), asked to turnaround CloudShield in 2013. In the first three months, achieved a net overhead run-rate reduction of 50%. Took lead of Sales and Channels. Marketing efforts led to the first CloudShield sales in the US and Europe mid-tier telecom markets. As a result, reduced losses from -$32M to -$15M in 2013 and to -$8M in 2014. Increased 2014 sales by over 25% and the 2015 pipeline included over $30M in high potential bookings. From February 2013 to February 2015 (2 years 1 month) McLean, VALt Colonel @ US Air Force / US Air Force Reserve From June 1974 to February 2002 (27 years 9 months) PentagonSubsection and Program Manager @ GE Aerospace / Martin Marietta (Startup/Turnaround/Gov’t/Services) From March 1988 to November 1993 (5 years 9 months) Northern VirginiaVP/Group Chief Strategy Officer / Leidos Cyber Security Strategy Lead @ Leidos Provided oversight and coordination for the $1.3B Integrated Systems Group (ISG) C2 and Infrastructure Protection strategies and the company’s Cyber Security strategy. From September 2014 to July 2015 (11 months) Reston, VASVP/Operation Manager @ SAIC As the Operation Manager for IT Deployment Operation (ITDO), led the startup of a brand new Operation with over 100 contracts including three large contracts which were losing money. Determined that the operation had a $183M baseline, $21M at-risk baseline (re-competes), and a $36M stretch goal. Used a market-aligned, innovative organizational design with focus on program turnaround and growth. Ended 2011 successfully by making the Operation's revenue goal of $240M, exceeding profit goals by 20%, submitting over $1B in proposals, receiving over $400M in awards, and qualifying $5.3B in pipeline. In 2012, continued to exceed goals with a 10% revenue growth to $264M and the second highest profit (9.3%) in the Sector. Also won the $300M+ i2SSC program for the third time and expanded the pipeline to over $6B. From February 2011 to January 2013 (2 years) McLean, VASVP/Chief Information Officer @ Leidos Asked to take rotational assignment as CIO to restructure Corporate IT. Interviewed Executive Leadership Team (ELT) and over 60 of Corporate IT’s customers. Reduced an opaque and reactive organization from six divisions to three and instituted a pragmatic level of discipline into the IT organization to include a project review lifecycle, a Project Management Office, IT governance, Enterprise Architecture, and a transparent time charging structure. Working with the ELT, initiated the move of IT procurement and development out of Line and Function organizations into Corporate IT. Reston, VALead for CloudShield Divestiture @ Leidos Due to a decision to “discontinue operations”, the Leidos CFO needed to find a buyer for CloudShield in no more than one year. After seven months supporting a banking firm who failed to secure a single LOI, took lead in identifying potential buyers, received LOIs from four firms within eight weeks, and closed on the sale to Lookingglass Cyber Solutions within the year. In parallel and putting the divestiture at risk, worked with Finance, Accounting, M&A, and Contracts and convinced the acquiring company on converting CloudShield to an LLC and on leaving CloudShield UK with Leidos to be use for two Granite Trust tax write-offs improving Leidos’ bottom line by $20M and $98M. From January 2014 to February 2015 (1 year 2 months) Reston, VAVP/Operation Manager @ SAIC • Formed new Operation as part of two pilots for SAIC - reorganizing Operations into functional lines and moving financial goals/accounting from Divisions to the Operation. • Turned around several problem programs, won all re-competes, pursued over 120 opportunities (45 wins, 30 awaiting award), and grew the Operation from $115M to over $150M. From February 2009 to January 2011 (2 years) Reston, VAVP/Operation Manager/Deputy Operation Manager/Division Manager(4X)/Program Manager (3+) @ SAIC • Recognized by the Operation Manager for significant contributions resulting in the Operation exceeding its revenue goals ($120M vs. $93M) and profit ($7.7M vs. $6.8M).• Won both of the Operation’s largest re-competes, i2S and ISIS.• Achieved high customer satisfaction - excellent-rated award fees on six programs. • Led an innovative partnership with BAH and CACI (GCOMM Alliance) to pursue large IT opportunities in IC customer and led in captures and proposals for over 30 new opportunities.• After running troubled DNI CIO program (2006), promoted to Operation Manager. From March 1997 to January 2009 (11 years 11 months) McLean, VARegional Consulting Manager @ Texas Instruments (Commercial/Sales, Services & Products) From December 1993 to February 1997 (3 years 3 months) Mid-Atlantic
