GIS is a computer system designed to capture, store, analyze, manage, visualize, interpret and present geographical data to understand relationships, patterns and trends in a spatial context. During my employment at Esri I was active mainly in two key roles: Sales and sales process optimisation. In my sales role I not only managed regional accounts in various industries (public safety, law enforcement, local government, healthcare, retail, engineering, environmental) but developed new business by specialising in the vertical markets of the insurance and financial services industries. Sales consisted of the Esri ArcGIS technology (software, solutions, professional services, training) as well as reselling spatial data from various suppliers (Swiss Post, HERE, TomTom, GfK, Intermap, Cartosphere). Due to my extended comprehension of the sales process I was also involved in an internal project successfully implementing and introducing salesforce.com as the company's new CRM. I defined new business requirements and developed methodologies for a new sales process and subsequently trained and coached users.
