Engineering Manager @ From March 2015 to Present (10 months) Software Engineer @ From April 2013 to March 2015 (2 years) Co-Founder & CTO @ Early on, designed, built, and maintained our daily-deal website and marketing analytics platform, growing to over 100k subscribers and ~1 million in annual revenue.
Post-pivot, built out a team of developers and launched Pinchit's new city discovery platform. Worked closely on product design and feature iteration with my co-founder. Built a development culture committed to test driven development and writing maintainable, loosely-coupled code. Developed a high-volume web scraper to populate our places database, and implemented a Mechanical Turk-based system to automatically identify event and location data across all external pages shared on our platform. From October 2010 to October 2012 (2 years 1 month) San Francisco Bay AreaSenior Developer @ Launched an online classroom platform for individual investors - the first of its kind as it employed social learning tools and an adaptive learning interface that has helped tens of thousands investors manage their own money. Integrated a PHP frontend with a Rails backend over REST and built a rich set of tools for launching new education products onto the platform. From November 2009 to September 2010 (11 months) Yoga Instructor @ Taught 60-minute vinyasa and hot vinyasa classes to classes of over 80 students. From May 2009 to June 2010 (1 year 2 months) CTO @ Responsible for completely re-architecting the site's backend to handle a white label partnership with NASDAQ.com, a site that receives more than 2 million monthly unique visitors. Implemented an auto-scaling server cluster on Amazon EC2. From September 2008 to November 2009 (1 year 3 months) Web Developer / Linux System Administrator @ Continued work on the eCamp family of products, including 24-hour on call emergency sysadmin work during periods of peak usage and ongoing feature development. From March 2007 to August 2007 (6 months) Web Developer / Linux SysAdmin @ Working alone, rebuilt eCamp's backend from scratch in six months, allowing it to scale from ~1,000 concurrent users to tens of thousands and from less than 100 gigabytes of photo uploads per month to well over a terabyte. Increased uptime of this legacy system from < 90% to 99.9%.
