I was the Vice President, Finance and Chief Financial Officer of Silvermex Resources Inc, a mid-tier producing silver mining company with operations in Mexico, since May of 2011 until July of 2012 when the Company was acquired by a larger silver company. I was part of a small senior executive team which worked together to develop the strategic direction of the Company, significantly improve operations and manage the Company's investor relations activities. I also oversaw all aspects of finance and legal as well as implemented structure, controls, governance, and fiscal policy. Previous to this, I was the Vice President, Finance and CFO of Polaris Minerals Corporation since 2006 where I managed and oversaw the Company’s debt and capital market activities, including managing banking relationships with US, Canadian and International banks. During my career at Polaris, I have completed numerous debt and equity financings, and overseen the implementation of the financial controls, processes and corporate financing strategies required to bring the Orca sand and gravel quarry on Vancouver Island from the development stage to large-scale commercial production. I was an integral member of a team of senior executives that negotiated strategic joint ventures, renegotiated the Company’s shipping contract and maintain positive and productive relations with the Company’s First Nations Partners. Before joining Polaris, I spent eleven years at Deloitte & Touche LLP, achieving the position of Senior Manager, where I focused on mining and junior resource mining companies. I obtained my Chartered Accountants designation in 1997 and I hold a BComm from the University of British Columbia.
