I am fascinated by the ever-changing media landscape and the capacity of journalism to incite change. Hailing from New York City, I crave fast-paced environments and love exploring new places. I am interested in how education and wealth can open opportunities, a topic I explored during my time at Forbes Media this past summer. I am currently a student at the University of Pennsylvania studying Communications with minors in Creative Writing and Political Science and hope to pursue a career as a reporter.
Editor-in-Chief @ From December 2015 to Present (1 month) Greater Philadelphia AreaExecutive Board Member @ I was elected as an at-large member of this eight-member body that proposes and votes on issues impacting both the business and editorial side of the company. I contribute ideas on topics relevant to the entire organization in our weekly meetings. From January 2015 to Present (1 year) Greater Philadelphia AreaCity News Editor @ I have direct oversight of all the city-related news relevant to the Penn community. I manage a staff of 12 experienced beat reporters who cover topics including crime, legal affairs, politics, diversity and Penn's engagement with the West Philadelphia community. I often write breaking news stories, especially on crime, and interact with Penn's Division of Public Safety. In addition to editing stories, writing online headlines and proofing the paper four days each week, I run weekly meetings to train reporters in important skills and discuss story ideas. From December 2014 to Present (1 year 1 month) Greater Philadelphia AreaMedia Technician @ I work with Final Cut Pro and Text Wrangler to edit and upload videos from programs and events at the Kelly Writers House to the Writers House website. I also run sound and record programs using Wirecast and working a soundboard. Additionally, I help prep reception food for lunch and dinner events and maintain the house. From September 2013 to Present (2 years 4 months) university of pennsylvaniaEditorial Intern @ Working on the Top Colleges Desk at Forbes, I played an active role in both team and individual projects. With a team of five other interns, I helped compile the 2016 Top Colleges package (http://www.forbes.com/top-colleges/), including a ranked list of 650 schools. I wrote, revised and fact-checked over 100 college blurbs that appear on the page of each school, wrote articles and created slideshows to go along with the launch of the list, and contributed ideas for the package at daily team meetings. I fact-checked for the print magazine and Forbes' first ever Top Colleges bookazine, containing all 650 schools. Individually, I also wrote stories on money and higher education for the Forbes.com website.

I wrote an average of two to three long-form articles per month.

Once a week, I would work in the newspaper office for the full length of production, editing four to five reporters’ articles, writing headlines and proofing the print pages. From August 2014 to December 2014 (5 months) Greater Philadelphia AreaEditorial Intern @ Writing for the New York page of the Observer website, I pitched and wrote story ideas on a range of topics, including homelessness, art exhibits, visual impairment and more. I wrote my own headlines and took my own photos for these stories. I also fact-checked the weekly print edition.
