I graduated from the University of Bedfordshire in 2014, and since then I have worked as an intern at Proven Legal Technologies, and I am now working permanently at Racing Post as a desktop support engineer.
My role at Racing Post is to support all employees with IT desktop services. This is ranged from bespoke software, to network troubleshooting, to hardware. Our IT operations team follow the ITIL framework to supply the best IT support.
Junior Service Desk Support Engineer @ During my time at Racing Post, I have been able to work in a large busy environment alongside an IT operations team. My role includes supporting in-house and remote customers of Racing Post in desktop support. My role also extends to covering for senior service desk support engineers of whom support the newspaper production and monitor live feeds from clients. During this time I have been able to constantly grow my technical knowledge, communication skills, and confidence. From January 2015 to Present (1 year) Junior Technical Consultant @ My responsibilities included handling big data, imaging hardware including mobile phones and hard drives, assisting the seniors, caching tapes, and E-Disclosure. From September 2014 to December 2014 (4 months) Information Logger @ During this three month internship I was responsible for the majority of the company’s data entry and logging during the construction of a new national train depot. I worked predominantly alone and was responsible for setting and managing my own deadlines; as well as showing initiative in engaging with other members of staff to obtain new tasks. During my time with Volker Fitzpatrick, I also had the opportunity to shadow the engineers on the construction site, which an exciting and new challenge. While on this placement, I also had the opportunity to work with Microsoft Excel on a professional level to analyse and process company data.
