Web Applications Engineer @ From September 2015 to Present (4 months) Lab Consultant @ During the academic year, I work as a Lab Consultant for Columbia University Information Technology (CUIT). My duties as a lab consultant mainly include maintaining lab hardware (i.e. printers, keyboards, computers) and assisting other students that need help dealing with problems (ranging from simple questions about the Microsoft Office suite to programming questions. From February 2011 to May 2014 (3 years 4 months) Software Engineering Intern -- Team Datar @ I work on several website features during my time as an intern for Work Market. Some of these features include the ability to request an international background check, search enhances (e.g. searching for users based on having a profile picture), and key enhancements to how users interact with a commonly visited page, the dashboard (I allowed for a user's assignments to be searched directly from the dashboard instead of a different page. Additionally, I allowed for a special search from the navigation bar on the site). Moreover, I also fixed miscellaneous bugs as they arose.
When I was not working on such website features, I either worked on tools for the data team or wrote various scripts to help gather and scrape information that people needed. I wrote a parser for the data team that cleaned up descriptions of assignments that companies created (only allowing the words in the assignments). Some of the various scripts I wrote included a latitude-longitude finder, several email retrievers, and use the BeautifulSoup HTML scraper to collect leads for companies.
Another small task I worked on dealt with website usage. Using a week worth of logs monitoring website usage, I was able to write a script that generated a report of usage of various parts of the user search page. From June 2013 to August 2013 (3 months) Software Engineering Intern @ During this three month period, I learned about development for the Android platform. I mainly focused on implementing Text-To-Speech and Speech Recognition functionality within Cisco's WebEx Meetings application. This led to me creating an 'interactive notification' system that alerted users, via text-to-speech messages, before their meetings and allowed them to use voice to either join or decline the join request. From June 2012 to August 2012 (3 months) Technology Intern @ From June 2011 to July 2011 (2 months)
