Norseman School Vice Principal /Program Manager @ I am currently the Vice Principal and Program Manager at Norseman Elementary School. My duties as the Vice Principal include:
• Skillfully supervise, evaluate and help build capacity in both certificated and classified staff aligning all actions with the mission of our district;
• Use evidence such as formal and informal data to improve instruction with individuals, groups, and school-wide;
• Make decisions and manage changes that will impact all staff and students;
• Appropriately allocating resources such as time, money, professional development and people to support the mission of the district and the goals of our school;
• Effectively communicating with all stakeholders including colleagues, staff, students, families, community and supervisors.
• Update and report Safety plan to staff, School Site Council, parents, and submit plan to district safety office on a yearly basis.
My duties as the Program Manager include:
• Reporting all expenditures to our School Site Council for their approval of purchases and expenditures.
• Overseeing and monitoring the use of federal categorical funding to the school site ensuring that all expenditures are appropriate and according to federal guidelines. Each year, I manage approximately $300,000 to $400,000 of categorical monies. I created a system of ordering and inventorying all materials and supplies purchased by our school to ensure a quick and accurate turnaround time.
• Strategically analyzing and allocating funds to impact student learning in the classroom;
• Hiring and training of classified staff;
• Creating, scheduling, and updating Master Calendar for staff;
• Ensure that all documents submitted to our State and Federal Programs department are accurate and completed in a timely manner. From August 2008 to Present (7 years 5 months) Instructional Literacy Coach @ As an Instructional Literacy Coach, I was trained through Sacramento County Office of Education with strategies and methodology of the Reading First Initiative. I provided professional development for our teachers on a weekly basis. In order to support teachers in the classroom, I cognitively planned, demonstrated lessons in Kindergarten through 6th grade, coached individuals and/or groups, and provided immediate feedback to individuals/groups regarding their performance. I created demonstration videos to support teachers in planning and teaching. Lastly, I also helped to bring Jefferson School to be equipped with the latest in interactive technology for teaching students.
