Responsibilities include: assisting in digital strategy creation, daily media monitoring, developing calculated metric reports, proofing/editing copy, maintaining monthly billing reports, liaising with in-house design/digital teams to create client facing materials, working with outside vendors as needed, administrative account activities, and helping to coordinate support for clientele projects. From July 2015 to Present (6 months) Account Coordinator Intern @ As a PR/communications Account Coordinator intern, I was responsible for supporting account directors and managers with their daily tasks. I worked on 10+ client accounts in various roles; within these roles I have learned about: media analyses, media sell-ins, workshop preparation and planning for patient groups, how to create effective journalist liaison relationships, writing and editing blog posts, social media positioning, media ad boards, and pitch development. This position taught me that I particularly love, and have a knack for, creative branding, graphic design and PowerPoint design. Additionally, this role allowed for me to see that health promotion program design and management is something I am interested in pursuing for my career. In my mid-internship review I was described as: 'hardworking', 'fantastically creative', 'professional', 'enthusiastic', 'an excellent writer', and willing to 'get stuck-in, in a non-intrusive way, while having personality'. Please feel free to take a look at some of the work I did for the Aurora monthly Top 20 blog below, have a listen to my voice over in the Aurora Integrated Multichannel Marketing campaign: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RZL9q6icdqI , and/or check out my blog post on my observed differences between the US healthcare system and the National Health Services of the UK: http://www.auroracomms.com/healthcare/red-white-blue/#.VN4KHEI3dFI From September 2014 to December 2014 (4 months) London, United KingdomMaster of Science Candidate - Health Systems and Public Policy @ This MSc programme prepares students for careers in health administration, health management, government departments or agencies, consultancies, advisory or advocacy roles in governments and international agencies, the commercial sector, research, or further study for a PhD. Our students come from countries at all levels of economic development. The programme is taught by the Global Public Health Unit, which is located in the School of Social and Political Science, rather than a Medical School. As a result, our programmes are able to reach across traditional boundaries, linking policy analysis, economics, development, public health and management. We focus on equipping students with the knowledge and critical skills they need to play a senior role in addressing the health system challenges of today and tomorrow. From September 2013 to November 2014 (1 year 3 months) Edinburgh, United KingdomPatient Information Centre Volunteer & Intern @ Responsible for data collection, patient interaction management, survey allocation, and data entry. The data I collected was used to report back to wards with quality of care information. This information was obtained anonymously through talking with patients, handing out individual surveys and then analyzing data in order to see how each ward's performance was month-by-month. From June 2014 to August 2014 (3 months) Edinburgh, United KingdomIntern @ During my intern week I was able to observe the Martin’s Point Health Care administrative team and how the inner workings of a health care facility operate on many levels. I spent time with three different administrative supervisors, including the director of health management, the vice president of delivery systems operations and a practice administrator, and observed their daily activities in various offices around the Portland area. This experience allowed me to sit in on budget and program planning meetings, experience human resource decisions from technical and budgetary standpoints, and see how to effectively make changes in a health care setting in order to promote sustainable spending habits, morale and team work. From December 2013 to December 2013 (1 month) Portland, Maine AreaSpecial Event Coordinator @ Along with providing a safe and secure environment that promotes fun and learning for children, the birthday party coordinator for UNH Campus Recreation is also responsible for billing, paperwork and the birthday party itself. I worked with children from ages 3 to 15. I was responsible for maintaining engagement of children while also facilitating a fun environment for them to interact with one another in. I particularly enjoyed this role because it allowed for me to mingle with members of the Durham community outside of UNH students and campus faculty/staff. From May 2012 to June 2013 (1 year 2 months) Supervisor of Facility Staff @ After working behind the scenes in the administrative offices for UNH Campus Recreation, I was promoted to Supervisor of Facility Staff. I was responsible for managing activities at the front desk, in the equipment room and in the fitness center. In this role I learned a lot about customer satisfaction and relations, sales, and supervising the building. As a supervisor I managed a staff of six to eight people (differing depending on shift) and maintained the safety of hundreds of patrons occupying the 104,425 square foot Hamel Recreation Center. I met with my fellow supervisors weekly in order to identify building or patron issues that need attending to and continually improve our facility management skills. It was required that all supervisors be properly trained in emergency procedures, CPR, and First Aid. From October 2010 to June 2013 (2 years 9 months) Master of Science (MSc), Health Systems and Public Policy @ The University of Edinburgh From 2013 to 2014 Bachelor of Arts (B.A.), English, Business @ University of New Hampshire From 2009 to 2013 Kelsey Matheson is skilled in: Social Media, Facebook, Microsoft Word, Teamwork, Public Speaking, Research, Sales, PowerPoint, Blogging, Customer Service, Writing, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Office, Leadership, Time Management
