📖 Summary
I'm passionate software developer with more that 6 years of professional experience. My focus lies in whatever you can call backend: developing software, DevOps... I'm always looking for best solution and technology that leads to achieving the goal. Though the years I've managed to work with quite a few of them and that gives me great overview. To name a some: C++, Python, JavaScript, Solr, Django, D3, NodeJS, Java, Qt For me writing software, and becoming better and better at it, is one of the most important thing in my life.Developer @ From October 2014 to Present (1 year 2 months) London, United KingdomPython Developer @ Member of team working on FIDO framework, used to build flexible workflow application for used internal use and major global bank. Summary of work: - Develop framework elements used to build applications - Help maintaining high coding and architectural standards - Improve procedures around the code – how we are developing and deploying From February 2014 to September 2014 (8 months) London, United KingdomFull Stack Software Developer @ Key member of company's flag product GNPD (Global New Products Database) used by top manufactures worldwide. Responsible for developing product itself, as well as increasing number of subsystems it relies on, with main focus on search service. In both cases increase of performance has been set as one of main goals. Summary of work: - Created analysis engine using Solr and Django - Leading “Technology Improvement Community of Practice: Back-End technologies” - Developed 3 Apache Solr cores from scratch, helped with the fourth, main one. Since then I implemented number of changes to Solr cores as well as in house search service. Doing so, I become “go-to” person for GNPD search service and Solr related questions. Currently I'm pushing into using search service also for analysis. - As search/Solr person, I have been asked to implement such features in other companies products or assist with my expertise. - Team project of implementing asynchronous searches to make application more responsive. That involved changes to core functionality (C++). Search tasks created by both C++ and Django code got executed by in Celery worker using RabbitMQ queues. - Designed a way of handling scheduled and interactive search analysis tasks. To prevent from blocking and allow work prioritization I've used different RabbitMQ queues. Since then we had no problems with benchmarks not be done on time or affecting application performance. - Prepared package specification for new servers. Migrated software from FreeBSD to CentOS servers - Implemented number of features in all part of application including JavaScript (compatible back to IE6) - Implemented Python libraries to produce secure hashed URLs allowing to serve content to authenticated users from CDN's servers without a need of contacting application for verification. - At very begging of my work I had write from scratch application for in house translators using Django framework used to this day with very small modifications. From November 2010 to February 2014 (3 years 4 months) London, United KingdomSoftware Developer @ I started working as a contractor on my 4th year of university. Most of that time I was working on number of partially related projects for a company specialized in creating scientific software for industries such as Polish National Railways, steel mills and power plants. Exposure to: C++, Qt, custom TCP protocol, image processing, Matlab, Flex, Delphi Summary of work: - Main designer and developer of video application for Linux machine (2 servers responsible for handling 2 high speed cameras each + 1 server responsible for another 2 standard speed cameras). Applications were working in master-slave configuration between each other and as a slave for Windows base application. For all communicating purposes TCP has been used. Linux based application were created using Qt framework. - Main designer of image processing part of application for a steel mill. Application it self was written in Delphi but prototyping has been done using Matlab. It was examining train wheels for hidden defects using ultrasound, while camera was used to extract region with wheel's serial number. - Designed Delphi component for 3D visualization ultrasound measurements done in power plants of deposits in cooling pipes. - Web application for reporting purposes created using FLEX framework. The first part is advanced user friendly wizard for selecting data from database. The second part of application allow user to create report template using drag and drop method and finally execute it with data from database.
