I managed the acquisition of the Fayetteville Shale assets in Arkansas from Chesapeake, as well as the acquisition of Petrohawk Energy Corporation, both in 2011. I managed the sale of BHP Billiton Petroleum's interests in the West and East Browse Joint Venture. I have overall legal management responsibility for all of BHP Billiton Petroleum's global exploration, development and production operations in the Gulf of Mexico, West Australia, Trinidad & Tobago, Algeria, the UK North Sea and Liverpool Bay, Philippines, Malaysia, Brunei, and India, and elsewhere.
I provide the anti-corruption and antitrust training and compliance support for the business together with the Manager Compliance for the Petroleum business. Relocated to Houston in late 2001 and was Managing Attorney for the Latin America region. In late 2003 becamed the Managing Attorney for BP's North America Gas and Power Business establishing a legal team to support that business and working closely with the Trading Compliance team, including working with the Federal Monitor and his staff.
In 2009-2010 provided legal support to BP's negotiaiton of the the JV for the Rumaila Development Project in Souther Iraq with Iraqi and Chinese coventurers, as well as provided the legal support to establish the E & P sector's new Central Development Organization. From January 1999 to December 2010 (12 years) Managing Attorney @ Primary responsibility was providing the leadership in the company's Caspian Sea and Russia E & P efforts, including the negotiation of the Azeri-Chirag & Guneshli PSA in the Caspian Sea, the Early Oil Development Project and Main Export Pipeline associated therewith. Also negotiated the Ormen Lange Unitization in the North Sea with our partner in Norway. Provided legal support for Amoco projects in Papua New Guinea, People's Repbulic of China, Denmark, Russia, The Netherlands, as well as maritime legal issues for the Marine Division.
