I am a Swiss Army dev. In the past 5 years, I have worked with a wide variety of technologies, from iOS to AngularJS and more. I currently work for a startup called SuperMighty, where we've developed a plugin that allows game developers to attach in-app purchases to a charitable organizations. Example: Buy an in-app purchase, give meals to a child in need.
Prior to SuperMighty, I worked as a developer at three different agencies in the Philadelphia area. In these agency roles, I developed apps and websites for a variety of clients, from documentary filmmakers to DirectTV.
Before getting into web development, I entered the workforce as an Optical Engineer at Edmund Industrial Optics in Barrington, NJ. At Edmund, I ironically started out working on their website in the marketing department, but was promoted to Engineering. There I served for a time as an Applications Engineer and later moved on to the Research and Development group.
iOS Engineer @ From May 2015 to Present (8 months) iOS Developer @ Managed the development and deployment of the Mighty Pop Up Shop, an iOS library that can be deployed into native iOS and Unity mobile games and allows game developers to attach an in-app purchase to a charity. For example: Unlocking the snow tires in a racing game for $0.99 could trigger the donation of 3 meals to a child in need. Building and deploying the shop required an in-depth knowledge of: Objective-C, iOS static libraries and frameworks, Apple In-App Purchase receipt validation, and cocoapods. From May 2014 to March 2015 (11 months) Greater Philadelphia AreaDeveloper @ Built a range of iOS apps, websites, and web apps, including BizVizz, an app that was featured in the AppStore's "New and Noteworthy," in addition to being honored at the 2013 Philadelphia Geek Awards. Became proficient in a wide variety of technologies including: Objective-C (iOS), Laravel (PHP), AngularJS, WordPress, ExpressionEngine, and Magento. From May 2012 to May 2014 (2 years 1 month) Interactive Developer @ Developed websites in WordPress, ExpressionEngine, and CakePHP. Clients included: Virgin Mobile Live, Simple Shoes, Sony Picture Classics, Turner Classic Movies, Hard Rock Casino, and a variety of other clients in the restaurant and entertainment industries. From October 2010 to May 2012 (1 year 8 months) Research and Development/Applications Engineer @ Designed process control systems to ensure precision manufacturing of optical components and assemblies. Managed inspection of customer returns and incoming products from internal manufacturing and various outside vendors. Supervised quality of orders in excess of $100,000 value. Assisted up to 20 customers daily over the phone and via e-mail to provide in-depth product support. Selected products from Edmund Optics catalog to custom-build systems of $10,000+ value to meet specific customer needs. From December 2006 to June 2009 (2 years 7 months) Website Assistant @ Maintained an online catalog of over 16,900 products by working with engineering and marketing departments. Updated content, including new products, product descriptions, and product drawings. Interacted with customers through product demonstrations at customer facilities.
