Driven to make a difference with a passion for government policy making, I am a bilingual goal oriented outcome focused executive. I have 25 years of experience working with government in legislative and regulatory affairs; 18 in the industry association world. Whether at the federal, provincial or municipal level of government, I have strategically prepared and executed industry policy positions achieving win-win solutions.
Working with strategic oriented boards, I have successfully built a new energy industry association and grown the importance of others. An agent of change when necessary, strategy was supported with the right tactics in the development and execution.
I have:
• Established key partnership while advocating industry interests
• Positioned propane as viable energy solution to energy policy makers Canada-wide
• Led stakeholder efforts for passage of air passenger facilitation & railway service legislation
• Spoke extensively in high profile circumstances
• Developed and launched (May 2012) Canada’s first industry association information partnership with the Mental Health Commission of Canada (MHCC).
A quick study, I have represented many industries including aerospace, construction, a professional society, airports and energy. Along the way I have built Canada-wide relationships with organizations, regulatory agencies government officials - elected and unelected.
Experienced with legislation, both in its interpretation and application proved invaluable to the industry on many occasions. Using strong communication skills to share these assessments in a timely and clear manner with board of directors.
On many occasions my communication abilities enabled me to be an effective public spokesperson with the media, both broadcast and print.
