📖 Summary
Senior Software Developer in Test @ SMART Technologies Leading contract staff in device compatibility testing on iOS, Android, and web apps with interactive whiteboards. Greater Seattle AreaInstructor | Assistant Instructor @ Coding With Kids Developed curriculum and delivered age appropriate instruction to elementary and junior high school students in after-school and center-based settings throughout the greater Seattle area. Responsible for classroom management, equipment, as well as evaluation and documentation of student progress. From October 2014 to April 2015 (7 months) Redmond, WASoftware Test Engineer | Software Test Engineer Lead - Internet Explorer @ Microsoft While in the IE team, I led two test teams. My responsibilities included hiring decisions, evaluations, morale, individual and team growth, task scheduling, division of labor, inter-team communication, goal development, and a larger role in triage and feature specification. I also spearheaded the test effort to build web controls that target all browsers but deliver an enhanced experience within IE (based upon .NET frameworks). Areas I was responsible for included: Intrinsic Controls, Form Submission, Object Model (OM), and Cascading Style Sheets (CSS). From 1995 to 2001 (6 years) Redmond, WASoftware Development Engineer in Test (SDET) II - Windows Input Platform @ Microsoft Focused on instrumentation and data analysis. Added instrumentation to the operating system kernel (win32k.sys) to collect usage data about input devices. Began building reports to aggregate and correlate the data to direct enhancements to the OS.Mentored junior members of the team to rapidly become productive with code, tools, processes, and culture. Held all code to a high bar in code review, overall making it more robust and maintainable.Designed and implemented a managed (C#) test framework which enables testers to rapidly create data-driven (XML) automated tests for touch input with minimal additional code. Successfully advocated the adoption and extension of the framework for the precision touchpad team. Using the framework, automated 1000+ tests for touch and touchpad digitizers and enabled other team members to do the same. Test harness/repository and tools expert within the team; Collaboration with tool development and operations teams to diagnose and solve operations, migration, and scalability issues with the repository. Facilitated rapid migration to new data stores by designing and implementing bulk update tool to port tests (saving weeks of manual time). Created and negotiated the team's daily automated lab schedule by milestone, ensuring proper execution, completion, and analysis. Also drove full test passes at the end of each milestone for the Input team, including execution, analysis, and reporting of automated and manual testing, enabling the team to ship the product on time and with known quality. From 2007 to 2014 (7 years) Redmond, WASoftware Development Engineer in Test (SDET) 1 | SDET Lead - Tablet PC @ Microsoft In the Ink Analysis/Parsing team I drove test development and managed change during team transition into the Windows team as well as cross group collaboration with Office teams, Serbian test development team, internal tools and services teams, and Sustained Engineering (in China). I created automated API tests across four layers (Base, COM, WinForms, and WPF), multiple architectures, and programming languages. This included test matrix creation, automation development, reviews, driving test passes for the team, analysis, and reporting. I also developed a wiki to gather and share knowledge within the team, and assisted developer customers as a lab proctor and as booth staff at developer conferences.I interviewed candidates (internal, external, and contingent staff) for various positions within the team and traveled with the recruiting team to identify and rank candidates with Microsoft potential. Several candidates identified received offers. From 2001 to 2007 (6 years) Redmond, WA
