I realized long ago that I love building things and there is no app for instinct. I love shaking-the-frame, creating dots before they become lines, and engaging in a daily assault on conventional wisdom; embarking on a quest to fundamentally rattle an industry, doing something different, and build teams that share my vision . . . all in the name of taking that which was just “okay” and making it great.
I have built three Top-5 businesses on two continents in three industries. From building the first Online Social Network in the world to founding and scaling a location-based car care chain both in the US and China to developing commercial and multifamily buildings to creating a large-scale professional association . . . , the common theme has always been developing, creating, scaling and delivering a high quality product with a focus on Excellence, not profits. If you are only focused on "winning", you are not focused on the the things it takes to win.

• Developed and redeveloped over 2,000 apartment units for own account.
• Developed over 2,500,000 square feet of commercial/industrial properties throughout the western
US for own account (approx. 1mm sf in conjunction with AutoWorld.)
• Assembled over 2,500 contiguous acres in California's Central Valley for mastered planned
logistics, distribution, commercial, retail development. On this project was personally vetted and
approved by Port Authority, Airport Director, Airport Commission, Federal Homeland Security,
FAA, Board of Supervisors, County Counsel, and third party investigator. From 1985 to January 2015 (30 years) Los Gatos, CAFounder & President @ The NCCREA was the ONLY professional association of its kind allowed to operate on the mainland PRC. We operated by special permission and with a high degree of autonomy in both the monthly live events and web presence. The NCCREA told the truth about the Chinese market: the good, the bad and the ugly. If you were not a member but only a casual visitor to the website, you may have noticed that editorial contribution had come to a standstill as the association was engaged in negotiations with both the Shanxi and Central Government. I was informed today (4/14/15) that as of today the Government in China has officially revoked our "special permission" to operate and essentially shut down the association. It was a strong 4 year run, we grew to close to 400,000 members at its height and provided the kind of honest insight and engagement sorely missing in the PRC. Sad day, but good work was done.
