Javier Benson-Glanz is currently a vice president at RealtyShares, a real estate crowdfunding platform. At RealtyShares, Javier is focused on business development, strategic partnerships, sourcing and underwriting. Previously, Javier’s role as a part of the management team at 643 Capital Management, a real estate private equity firm, was integral to the underwriting and acquisition of over $300 million in real estate assets. Prior to moving to the Bay Area, Javier worked in investment banking at Barclays in the Global Industrial Group, where he facilitated M&A, debt and equity transactions within the building products, industrial distribution and engineering & construction industries. He is an MBA graduate of The Wharton School of Business, where he complemented his mechanical engineering undergraduate degree with a major in finance and real estate, tailoring his education to entrepreneurship and sustainability. Pre-MBA, Javier worked at Diamond Consultants (now PwC Diamond Advisory Services), a global management consulting firm based in Chicago. Javier served as an advisor in both business and technology strategy, which provided a unique and rewarding opportunity to craft impactful strategies, as well as understand the implications and complexities of technology behind them. Collectively, these experiences have provided him with a framework of how to grow a company while maintaining sound operations and quality metrics, both of which are key measures for success. Outside of work, Javier spends his free time traveling. Javier enjoys photography and music. He is proficient in Spanish and self-taught beginner Mandarin.
