From 2011 to Present (4 years) Greater San Diego AreaGraduate student @ MS Chemistry From 2009 to 2010 (1 year) Research Associate, Medicinal Chemistry @ - Synthesis and SAR of T3 analogs, mainly substituted diaryl systems, to support a thyroid receptor agonist program. Developed a shortened route to the lead clinical drug, MB07811, which had a large impact on overall costs to develop this compound.
- Synthesis and SAR of nucleosides to support a Metabasis-Idenix hepatitis C program. Synthesized the lead parent compound, which is currently the property of Idenix.
- Synthesis and SAR of FBPase inhibitors (heterocycles) to support a Metabasis-Sankyo type II diabetes collaboration. Synthesized a novel set of potent compounds to support SAR studies.
- Attended regular project meetings, prepared and communicated presentations, and interacted with biochemists, biologists, and ADME personnel.
- Responsibility for the company’s entire synthetic library, which included use of inventory software and supervision of employees assigned to dispense chemicals to the chemistry, biochemistry, and biology departments. From 2000 to 2009 (9 years)
