I have been a professional developer since I graduated from university three years ago, and at this stage in my career, every day brings something new to learn. As a result, I view myself as necessarily adaptive; I am amenable to new ideas and readily apply the good ones to my work. I have already tasted a variety of technologies but there's always something exciting I haven't seen yet. The world is being transformed again and again by really great software, and I want to be a part of that movement and help shape the innovations the future will bring.

Software Developer @ A company specialising in data security, Synectics caters to companies and government branches that wish to prevent financial fraud by adding to and cross-referencing with a national database of past financial applications such as mortgages, loans, insurance and so forth. The main application I work on, known as SIRA, provides an ASP.net-based web service in front of client data. This allows fraud detection agents at client companies (such as O2, Santander and Citi), to cross-reference incoming applications with available applicant data and develop fraud prevention strategies based on data they deemed suspicious.
Although SIRA is built on ASP.net, it is mostly database-driven, and much of the customisability of the styling and contents displayed can be attributed to the tables and stored procedures which contain rules to display data according to the client’s specifications. As such, much of the work I have done on the project has involved managing tables, views and stored procedures for the purpose of implementing new ways in which clients have requested to view the financial data Synectics houses. Other work has included writing fresh ASP markup, C# and CSS in order to configure and style a site for a new client. From November 2011 to Present (3 years 11 months) Newcastle-under-LymeSoftware Developer @ A LAN telephony recording company, it offers call recording and playback software to businesses with Voice-Over-IP telephone installations, in the form of a physical on-site server (a ‘Red Box’) which will capture all VoIP traffic and allow in-browser playback and configuration via an Apache web server.
Amongst all this, a few achievements are noteworthy. Due to demand for recording of agent e-mail and messenger interaction in conjunction with phone recording, I was tasked with writing a demo application which integrated the recorder with the screen recording software Ekisa. Working alone, I was able to write a Win32 program which, using the Ekisa API, received triggers from the recorder (transmitted when an agent picked up the phone handset) to begin screen recording. The demo was presented to the company sales team and representatives from Ekisa, to great success. From October 2009 to November 2011 (2 years 2 months) NottinghamshirePart-Time Assistant Supervisor @ Whilst still at university, I acquired a part-time retail role at a local bookstore, which eventually progressed to include supervisory duties. My responsibilities included cash handling and counting, customer relations and working rapidly and efficiently during shifts. In my duty as an assistant supervisor I was also tasked with store security, shop floorplans, task delegation, forward planning, and staff management. The role required strong interpersonal skills, the ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team, a grasp of organisation and a willingness to adapt and improvise circumstantially, sometimes under pressure. From October 2007 to October 2009 (2 years 1 month) Newcastle-under-Lyme
