My name is James Williams, and I am a highly effective, results-oriented leader in Amazon's European business. I have been promoted through the ranks at Amazon from first line supervisor in our fulfillment centers through various roles of increasing responsibility to assume the role of Head of the Talent Acquisition Center of Excellence & Campus Recruitment EU, where I lead a highly talented team to raise the bar in our business by attracting the best leaders to Amazon.
Prior to Amazon, when I separated from the Army I was recruited by Amazon Fulfillment through its extensive military recruiting program. I have been able to integrate many of the skills I developed while in the military, e.g., planning and execution, identifying where processes break down, and team leadership.
Operational excellence and a process orientated focus are passions which were ignited during my years of military service. I am passionate about developing leaders and helping teams work through difficult challenges. My teams have had breakthrough results with double-digit improvements in productivity and millions of dollars in savings. We have accomplished this with the balanced approach of analyzing the impacts of process infrastructure as well as understanding the impact of leadership to performance.
I believe that the most important criteria for success is understanding which are the critical inputs (achievement of the right results), because there are so many opportunities for improvement. Leaders who are most successful are those that can identify the 80/20 drivers, and properly communicate those drivers to the key stakeholders.
I am on Linkedin to strengthen business relations and make new connections. I am also an evangelist for Amazon, and am happy to talk to any prospects that are interested in joining our team. Please feel free to connect with me as I would love to hear from you!
