📖 Summary
Success has been my key driver throughout my early career as a professional racing driver, and my managerial career to date. My recent role has given me large amounts of freedom to manage and guide an international motor racing championship, reporting directly to the group CEO, Dr. Jonathan Palmer. I have gained valuable experience monitoring all aspects of the organisation and developing short and long-term business opportunities and sales, whilst enjoying extensive travel and dealing with international customers on a daily basis. I place particular emphasis on relationship building and development to achieve my goals. This approach has led to the creation of new business and the strengthening of partnerships in my most recent role, generating over fourteen million GBP of sales in just three years. This is despite the extremely difficult climate currently facing world motorsport. I endeavour to create a working environment in which individuals can thrive, whilst strengthening the collective team in pursuit of its goals. I seek a new challenge that will allow me to apply my energy, drive and experience, and to encourage those around me to work towards the high standards that I expect from myself.Sales Manager @ ATL Ltd manufactures composite bladder devices and fluid transfer systems for Racing Cars, Aircraft, Space Craft, Defence Vehicles, Submersibles, Marine Craft and Industry. From February 2014 to Present (1 year 11 months) milton keynes, englandHead of Motorsport @ Ellis Clowes - Specialist Insurer Ellis Clowes & Company Limited has pledged to be ‘A service driven broker for the fast moving world’. The origins of the company are the iconic and highly respected Lloyd’s Broker, TL Clowes, whose expertise was motor sport insurance. Over time, the Clowes name has expanded beyond this remit and established itself today as a company providing flexible insurance solutions with unparallelled service and expertise. Ellis Clowes, as an independent Lloyd’s Broker, continues this theme of developing the business within the niche areas it knows so well – providing insurance services specifically for professional high-risk sports and companies operating in war zones and hostile environments. The main focus of the business remains motor sport insurance and Ellis Clowes continues to lead the market in comprehensive programmes for teams, individuals, sponsors, governing bodies, championships and events. It also maintains a strong presence in rugby union and plans to further develop other strings to its bow by adding quality business with expert personnel. Together with the sporting arm of the business, the company has earned a reputation for delivering insurance solutions for private security companies, non-governmental organisations (NGOs) as well as media and broadcast companies working in hostile environments and war zones. Ellis Clowes will continue to grow this side of the business. The Ellis Clowes team is well known for delivering a personal service, understanding the environment – be it a motor sport venue or a war zone – and providing the specialist product for the unusual situation. With such a unique knowledge base, it has amassed an impressive and very loyal client base that will benefit from the added flexibility and immediacy the company’s new independent status delivers. From May 2013 to February 2014 (10 months) Championship Manager @ The championship is an international feeder series to the FIA Formula One Championship. This role required me to oversee all aspects of the Formula Two operation, including the sporting and operational side of the championship and race team. A large percentage of my time was spent developing new and existing business opportunities. It was necessary to travel internationally on a regular basis and to multi-task on the move. The role includes; • Management of all aspects of the FIA F2 Championship, including but not limited to strategy, business development, budget control, event organisation, contract negotiation, market research, public relations and communication, account creation and management, merchandise sales. • Solely responsible for selling all driver positions within the FIA Formula Two Championship. • Daily communication and relationship management with international stakeholders and clients. • Continued product evaluation and development. • Managing and assigning tasks to Championship Administrators. • Overseeing the championship hospitality unit and ticket sales. • Ensuring full integration of drivers to the team and championship. • Negotiating sponsorship deals and ensuring contracted elements are delivered. • Although not originally part of my role I have become one half of the two-person commentary team, delivering live broadcast race commentary, post race interviews and post produced voiceovers. As part of a new domestic motorsport project called the BRDC Formula 4 Championship, in September/October 2012 I successfully sold 24 single-seater race cars with a total value of over £750,000. I also developed necessary relationships, partnerships, documents and processes vital to the operation of the championship.
