Cryptocurrency platforms are competing for dominance with their own, largely incompatible technical roadmaps.The development of alternative Byzantine fault-tolerant (BFT) consensus algorithms to proof-of-work and the development of new game-theoretic and economic theories (cryptoeconomics) are necessary to plausibly secure a multitude of independent blockchains. Armed with a new class of consensus algorithms and theory we can create the Internet of Blockchains, a network of interoperable distributed ledgers.Interchain Foundation (ICF) is a non-profit Switzerland Foundation. Its purpose is to oversee the development of open-source software and protocols for the Internet of Blockchains. To achieve these goals, the Interchain Foundation will fund the development of software and crypto- economic theory needed to launch the Internet of Blockchain, as well as support members in coordinating the launch of the network.
