I have a strong passion for computer science and software engineering. I pride myself in my ability to quickly pick up new technologies and run with them. I have a broad base of knowledge and experience, which might make me a generalist in some sense. I can talk theoretical computer science, and at the same time write and develop software with a pragmatic understanding of the engineering required. When the work day ends, I tend to write code in my spare time, usually in an effort to expand my knowledge and understanding of different languages and frameworks. I pride myself and strive every day to write "clean code", taking an artisan view and approach to things. Writing software isn't just a job for me, it's a passion I love. Some of my experiences include: Object Oriented software development, Java J2EE, RESTful web services (JAX-RS) and GWT client/server. I've designed and developed systems that run the gamut of web-tech, both front and back end. Experienced with GNU Linux and shell scripting, I have a solid command of the Linux environment and use it every day - both as a desktop development environment and as a sever/enterprise system. I'm an emacs junkie and feel that it's one of the better tools I've learned (Pragmatic Programmer #22: http://blog.codinghorror.com/a-pragmatic-quick-reference/). Experience with the following Libraries, Frameworks, Languages & Tools: Google Web Toolkit (GWT), JavaScript, Java, git, svn, maven, ant, Eclipse, GNU Emacs, HTML/CSS, Angularjs, Nodejs, Netbeans, JBoss AS, PostgreSQL, Hibernate ORM, JMS, GWT-Ext. I attend the University of Southern California part time through their DEN program (remote), and when time allows I contribute to open source. Current hobbies: Clojure.
