I'm a creative writer, with a solid grasp of the rules of the English language. I've been developing those skills since I could read, and it's only natural to put them to work and get paid to write.
I'm a fan of games, and gravitate toward game-related projects. Over the years I've done system design (for tabletop games), IP creation, world-building, quests/missions, and voice-over scripts. I'm excellent at time management and pride myself on finishing before deadline whenever possible.
I also pride myself on my flexibility! If you've got marketing copy that needs writing or editing, if you find yourself short on web content (or need someone familiar with CMS to get your content on the web), I might just be your man!
Writer/Editor @ From May 2013 to Present (2 years 8 months) Greater Seattle AreaCopywriter/Editor @ I was the marketing copywriter for the Blade & Soul MMORPG, which includes writing website and email content.
My duties also covered writing and editing copy for Aion, Lineage II, and WildStar. Essentially, if it was a writing or editing task, I was involved in the process at some point. From July 2012 to March 2013 (9 months) Lead Writer @ I was the primary writer and editor for quests and world lore for the game Torchlight II. This was largely a collaborative process, so I can hardly take full responsibility--but between quests, backstory, item descriptions, and any other place where text appears, I helped create a vibrant world with a great deal of depth. From April 2010 to June 2012 (2 years 3 months) Content Designer @ I wrote quests and helped design seasonal events for the Warhammer Online MMORPG. My work appeared in the events Heavy Metal, Keg End, Night of Murder, Bitter Rivals, Beyond the Sands, Rise of the Tomb Kings, The Wild Hunt, and Sigmar Tide. Many of the quests and NPCs that appear in the "Weekend Warfront" events are also my creation. From October 2008 to October 2009 (1 year 1 month) Creative Content Associate Manager @ My role at Upper Deck was a combination of creativity and coordination--writing flavor text and riding herd on freelance flavor text writers. My collateral duties included writing marketing copy for the Fine Arts team, and, shortly before I left, designing a roleplaying game (both system and setting). From 2005 to 2007 (2 years) RPG Designer @ As an RPG Designer at Wizards of the Coast, I am best known for my work on the Star Wars Roleplaying Game. I worked with Andy Collins and Bill Slavicsek on the "Original Core Rulebook," then with Bill and Chris Perkins on the "Revised Core Rulebook." As job duties changed, I eventually became "The Star Wars Guy"--writing for roughly half of the sourcebooks for the game and working with freelancers on the other half.
But Star Wars wasn't my only project. I also worked on Dark*Matter and Alternity, the Marvel Super-Heroes Adventure Game, and Dungeons & Dragons. From 1998 to 2002 (4 years)
