Greater New York City AreaCFO, NAMETRUB @ Unilever Unilever NAMETRUB is one of eight Unilever Global Markets spanning 35 countries in North Africa, Middle East, Turkey, Central Asia and Russia with revenues of €4,5bn and growing mid-single digit. I was in the Senior Leadership Team of both NAMETRUB and TUI regions, and a member of the Global Markets and Category Finance Leadership Team. Responsibilities included performance management across the Market, investment planning (with Categories) and capability sharing/building.I was also the Board Member for Unilever Mashreq JV, a €300m joint venture with Fine Foods for Unilever’s operations in Egypt and the Levant countries. From 2011 to 2016 (5 years) Istanbul, TurkeyVP Finance, Global Business Transformation Program @ Unilever As part of Unilever’s response to KHC’s take-over offer, one of the commitments the business made to shareholders to unlock value was to deliver a 20% operating margin by 2020. To achieve this margin and to provide fuel to reinvest in the business, the Global Business Transformation and Spend Reduction Program was launched. As VP Finance, Business Transformation and Commercial Spend and Global Lead for this initiative, responsibilities include enhancing the effectiveness and efficiency of spend through zero based budgeting (ZBB) and trade spend optimisation as well as providing strategic intervention to the “Future Fit” element of the Business Transformation with €3.5bn restructuring spend. From 2018 to 2020 (2 years) Greater New York City AreaVice President Finance and Controller, Unilever Americas @ Unilever As Controller of Unilever Americas (revenues of €13bn), reporting into SVP Finance Americas, I was a member of the Americas Leadership Team, the Americas Finance Leadership Team, the global Information Management Leadership Team and a member of the Controllers network.The role also included responsibility for managing the regional Finance function for Financial Accounting, Finance Shared Service Center for Latin America (run from Santiago de Chile and Sao Paolo), Risk Management (Sarbanes-Oxley), IT Finance, Investor Relations, and, Treasury/Tax planning. From 2007 to 2010 (3 years) Greater New York City AreaVice President Finance and IT, Unilever Greece @ Unilever Unilever Greece had revenues of approximately €500m. As part of the business, Elais-Unilever, it was listed on the Athens Stock Exchange with 33% of shares owned by third parties, the role of VP Finance and IT therefore included being a public company CFO. From 2003 to 2007 (4 years) GreeceFinance Director, Corporate Treasury @ Unilever As International Funding Manager, my responsibilities included the planning, structuring and issuance of Unilever’s corporate debt; management of debt investor relations; managing Unilever’s Group-1 banks; and managing the relationship with the rating agencies. The role provided support to acquisition and disposal activities when funding was involved (e.g. DiverseyLever disposal).
