Senior Chemist Toiletry Development and Prospective @ + To develop new products on a global basis with emphasis on Toiletries and Skin Care, under minimum supervision. The position reports to the director of product development.
+ Specifically, the position requires to operate and coordinate a large number of activities such as, product concept, formulation and evaluation, patent review, regulatory compliance, while interacting with other department such as International Marketing, Process Development, Manufacturing, Regulatory, Safety, Artistic Department, Packaging.
+ In addition, technical presentations of new developed products to an internal global audience at the head office in Paris have been a key demand for this position.
+ Familiarization with the many product types and technologies that are used to make toiletries that vary from anhydrous systems to emulsions to surfactant base to alcoholic base, etc.
+ Understanding of the interactions among the components of the products, fragrance and packaging and investigating ways to minimize risks.
+ Examples of main achievements are a new series of toiletries (Body Mist, Anydrous Perfume Balm, Perfumed Shimmering Powders, etc) to support fragrance launches
+ Other examples pertain to the maintenance and reformulation of many toiletries for the wide range of Chanel fragrances (approx 12), which accounts for approx 100 toiletries variants.
+ Constant communication of project mile stones and feasibility to International Marketing and senior management to ensure that all deadlines are met in a timely and efficient manner.
+ Provide technical guidance to laboratory technicians in order to establish priorities in the execution of development work.
+ Maintain close awareness of scientific literature, competitive products, raw material technology, processing methodology and marketing trends.
+ Actively participated in several Leadership Chanel internal programs intended to create awareness among employees in innovation and work motivation. From July 2007 to Present (8 years 6 months)
