Software engineer contractor with experience in backend web development, analytics services and some systems work. My primary programming language of choice is Go. However, I work closely with Ruby as well. I have worked on analytics APIs, social e-commerce platforms and file synchronisation applications. However, my previous experience was with Java and Spring. I have also worked extensively with Docker, Ubuntu and Nginx. I am also comfortable with Vagrant and Ansible. I originally studied a course in Computing and Artificial Intelligence at the University of Sussex. I received a first with honours and developed some tools for mapping cellular morphology traits to levels of abnormality. This was used for detection of lesions in images of cervical smear samples. I did this using a combination of Computer Vision and Neural Networks (MLP and RBF) written in the MatLab environment. I am always on the look out for new tech in the Brighton area.
