The RedPrairie Warehouse Management System was selected to replace the ageing DISCO legacy system within the Sainsbury’s distribution network. The role of the Design & Development Manager was to collate all the Business requirements and identify any gaps between the existing WMS and RedPrairie. The goal was to keep the vanilla package with no unnecessary custom modifications whilst realising key Business improvements through the implementation of a real time solution. The role took the project from conceptual design all the way through to User Acceptance Testing and delivery of a fully functional WMS in readiness for deployment across the Sainsbury’s distribution network. The project saw a better than Business Case return of investment seen through a huge increase in availability, accuracy and productivity. From February 2007 to February 2011 (4 years 1 month) Operational Systems Support Manager @ Part of a specialist group created to support the new automated sites as well as the existing Distribution Network. Providing business support by prioritising and escalating as necessary all system related issues that impact the Operation. The Group is the key contact point between the various system providers and the Operation. Its primary mission is to deal with enquiries, incidents and problems concerning all operational systems. From April 2001 to April 2003 (2 years 1 month) Warehouse Shift Manager @ Planning and controlling warehouse operations, ensuring that deadlines are met in an operation that involved the receipt and despatch of over a million cases a week of both ambient and perishable goods, servicing in excess of 80 stores. Managing and motivating a workforce of over 500 staff to achieve the required quality and cost performance matched to the company’s operational needs.
