Manager, Network Tools & Automation @ I manage a team that is responsible for delivering automation and tooling to support the Network Engineering team at Twitter. Currently the team comprises of 4 Software Engineers (SWEs) and 1 Site Reliability Engineer (SRE). The team primarily codes in Python and is using a scrum based method. I also participate in the usual scrum ceremonies, planning, retrospectives, backlog grooming etc. As the manager I am responsible for setting and ensuring completion of team goals. I work closely with the management team of the Networking group as well as our Site Operations teams to ensure delivery of tools that help facilitate easy intake/installation of network devices.
Recent success of the team:
Templatized the configuration for Juniper Top of Rack switches. This leads to more accurate and repeatable network build outs
Firewall ACL automation. This removes the mundane and error prone manual process of update FW Access Control Lists (ACLs)
Implementation of a log-aggregation system. Using the ELK (Elastic search, Log-stash, Kibana) we are processing in excess of 500k log events per minute From January 2015 to Present (11 months) San FranciscoManager, Infrastructure Operations @ Led a team of Site Reliability Engineers responsible for multiple mission critical services including DNS, LDAP, Puppet and NMS (Network Monitoring Services). Along with my duties as the manager of the IPS team I am also a member of Twitter’s Agile Leadership Team. In this role I am active in helping to implement lean processes across Twitter as a whole.

I drove the adoption of the kanban model. The result of which increased ticket throughput by 25% and decreased time to completion of tasks
