Fernán Ricardo Cepero is Chief Human Resources Officer for the YMCA of Greater Rochester. Fernán has also served an Employee Development Manager for The Perrier Group of America where his responsibilities include recruiting, employee development and ensuring effective succession planning. Prior to assuming this position he served as Human Resource and Employee Development Manager for The Document Company Xerox. He was responsible for the creation and implementation of a People Development Strategy, where in, he developed and maintained a pool of management talent to meet the companies long-term needs.
Fernán is a thought leader in the area of human resources, empowerment and organizational development and is the author of a chapter in Linkage, Inc.’s "Best Practices in Organization & Human Resources Development Handbook (Linkage Press: 2000)." The chapter, Building a Better Document Company: The Road to Empowerment at Xerox, provides a high-level, detailed look on Xerox’s Empowered Work Groups Initiative. Based on Fernan's work, Xerox Corporation was recognized by Linkage, Inc. with a Best Practice Award for its "Empowered Work Groups Change Initiative."
