I am a graduate with a HND in Events Management from Leeds Metropolitan University. I enjoyed my time studying and it has helped me to further my career and gain new skills and experiences. Keys skills I gained from studying are team work, communication skills and organisational skills. I think the skills I will be leaving with will help me further my career within industry as all three skills are vital qualities to have as an events manager. I come from a professional dancing background therefor I also have a great flair for creativity. I have gained experience working on music and live events which has furthered my leadership skills and management of entertainment. Whilst studying it has made me eager to gain more experience within events and put new theory I have gained to test. Once i graduated i gained voluntary and paid work experience with Pastiche Europe Ltd which organise entertainment and corporate events. I helped assist with build-up, and backstage area on the day of a corporate event. I assisted Mori Lee and Ronald Joyce International on their exhibition stand at The Bridal Exhibition in Harrogate. I learnt how to work within a fast paced environment on these specific three days. As a performer I have been given responsibilities of team leading roles whilst on tour and made overall decisions. I have been given the opportunity to use my creativity and lead choreographed staged shows. I have worked 3 seasons abroad which has enabled me to make many contacts within industry. After my experience at Leeds Metropolitan University I hope to be a success in industry. I would like to gain more events experience working for an events company as well as my own. I have recently formed Eivissa Entertainments and Events which is a supplier of corporate entertainment. Eivissa is an entertainment supplier for corporate events, function, hotel, casino, theatre and television. Being professionally trained as a dancer one of her first contracts abroad was dancing in Elpacha Nightclub; Hamammet, Tunisia with some of the biggest named dj’s including Laidback Luke, Axwell and many more. I have then gone on to do other contracts abroad. Contracts include Rhodes and this summer Ibiza. During my stint in Ibiza I was lucky enough to be given a dancers job at the biggest night at Eden, Judgement Sundays and also Garlands. I have worked all over the UK for well-known tours, the biggest nightclub in the UK the Syndicate Blackpool, Gatecrasher Birmingham and many more. From September 2007 to Present (8 years 4 months) Event Assistant @ British Bridal Exhibition Event Dresser - I was on hand to assist the models through there bridal changes. I gained first-hand experience assisting an exhibition stand. Jobs also included set up and set down of all bridal wear and Mori Lee designs. I worked in a team and had to lead the models in a rotating manner for the run. Working within a fast paced environment.
