From July 2000 to January 2001 (7 months) Arlington, VADirector of Financial Reporting @ TRW BDM was acquired by TRW at the beginning of 1998. Stayed with TRW post-merger in a corporate role helping to transition the business to a three day close. Moved into the Public Sector business unit. Responsible for the financial management and reporting for the Public Sector Solutions business unit. Assisted with the integration of multiple divisions of the post-acquisition combined companies (BDM and TRW). Also assisted with the establishment of common procedures and tools, regular reviews of the various lines of businesses and of projects, and training for all financial staff across the multiple organizations. From 1998 to July 2000 (2 years) Reston and Fair Lakes, VADirector of Financial Reporting @ BDM Managed the consolidation of financial results for all areas of the business, including foreign subsidiaries. Drafted and filed all SEC reports. Assisted with quarterly close processes, press releases, and investor relations, assessment of potential acquisition targets, due diligence on acquisition candidates, and integration of acquired companies into the existing business. Also participated in activities undertaken to sell the company, such as preparation of consolidated financial forecasts, key opportunities and risks, and data room information. Managed stock option tracking and reporting. Participated in the implementation of an enterprise resource planning system (SAP). Lived and worked in Paris, France during a 1 ½ year exchange program, largely performing audits of multinational corporations with subsidiaries in France. Established and managed a regular reporting process to the management teams and to corporate, addressing revenue recognition and other accounting issues, prepared budgets and forecasts for projects and divisions, assisted with pricing new work and contract reviews, assisted with pipeline management and reporting, established and managed a project review process, assessed potential acquisition candidates, performed due diligence for targeted acquisitions, integrated new acquisitions into the existing business, developed reporting and procedures for international acquisitions, provided financial training, acted as liaison to auditors for business units, and coordinated with various departments (accounting, information systems, corporate) on business unit and other various issues and needs.Moved into a Corporate Finance role. Established and managed a company-wide forecasting and reporting process designed to provide level of information necessary to assess risk or conservatism in consolidated forecasts, enabling the Company to meet or exceed external financial expectations every quarter of the fiscal year. Assisted with quarterly close process, including preparation of press release, analyst calls, and other investor relation activities. Participated in assessment of potential acquisition candidates. Contributed to the successful sign-off of the effectiveness of internal controls as required by the Sarbanes-Oxley Act, taking a leadership role in revising key processes and related policies to strengthen controls.
