Software Developer @ From January 2013 to Present (3 years) Manchester, United KingdomC# Software Developer @ 1. Developed Traffic Management System (C# .NET 3.5)
Service transmits a RDSTMC stream of incident data and service parameters to remote
transmitter sites managed by Global Radio.
Incident data is retrieved from SQL Server by calling stored procedures using .NET SqlClient.
Incidents are assigned to a carousel in cache based on the incidents location.
Each incident in a carousel is streamed via TCP to a transmitter site using .NET Sockets and
Stream.
The service uses multi-threading.
Transmission logs and KPI's are written to SQL server.
2. Developed Car Parking System (C# .NET 3.5/SQL Server 2008)
Service takes UK car park data from Parkopedia, then for the current day, sends the data in
a TPEG XML file to our TPEG server for broadcast.
Parking data is read from multiple XML files using T-SQL queries and written to tables.
In SQL Server I made use of Stored Procedures, Triggers, Functions, Jobs, Security and
Backups.
Parking data is retrieved from SQL Server by calling stored procedures using .NET SqlClient.
The application extracts the parking fee's/available spaces for the current day and creates a
TPEG XML file using .NET XML.
The TPEG XML file is then sent to a remote FTP server.
3. Developed KPI Interface (SQL Reporting Services)
Graphical Interface for displaying volume of traffic incidents over time and types of
incidents.
Traffic incident KPI's read from XML/CSV files using T-SQL queries and written to tables.
SQL Reporting Services then calls Stored Procedures and populates graphs. From February 2001 to December 2012 (11 years 11 months)
