Project Manager @ Daily responsibilities include all document, cost and trade management from project inception through project closeout. This includes, but is not limited to, purchasing scope of work, negotiating contract values, managing changes, processing submittals, writing RFI's and tracking overall subcontractor progress. In addition, I work with clients and design team members on a daily basis to convey and facilitate design intent and constructability across the board. From August 2012 to Present (3 years 5 months) Greater Chicago AreaProject Manager @ After joining Foster Design Build in July 2010, I was quickly placed into the project manager role for an extremely exclusive, detail oriented, luxury residential project in the Hyde Park Neighborhood of Chicago. This home, which is located right in the middle of the historic district of Chicago, was originally built in 1906. The main residence and coach house will be completely renovated as well as a contemporary addition added to the main residence. Upon completion, we will have nearly 11,000 SF of renovated space that incorporates an extremely unique and elegant design.
My daily responsibilities include all construction scheduling, budgeting, document and contract management and coordination of all trades. In addition to these tasks, I work directly with the Architect, interior designer and the Landmarks Preservation Society in order to ensure all aspects of the design are being implemented in the field. In addition, I communicate with the client on a daily basis in order to inform them of daily construction activity and explain means and methodologies of construction for their future home. This project was completed in August of 2011. From July 2010 to August 2012 (2 years 2 months) Greater Chicago AreaIntern to Project Manager @ Throughout two summers with the Educational Business Unit of Bovis Lend Lease Chicago, I was able to capture a great deal of knowledge pertaining to construction operations. Working on a variety of construction projects ranging from new construction to renovations, I have experienced projects from the bid phase to the closeout phase and in between.
My primary task was to assist the project managers and superintendents on these various projects. Attending weekly coordination meetings and monthly OACM meetings, I was also responsible for safety, on-site observations, and document management using Prolog software. Furthermore, I was able to successfully manage a submittal log for three simultaneous school renovation projects. Lastly, I was the primary contact for a small civil project in which I managed all document control and field responsibilities. From May 2007 to August 2008 (1 year 4 months)
