Today, David is the Founder and CEO of Osirium and has non-executive directorships and co-founding interests in TextAnywhere, Menbus Ltd, Pubs4U. He is also an advisor and investor on the board of Webbrick Systems.
In 1995, David co-founded and was also the CEO of MIMEsweeper, which by 2000 had become the recognized world leader in content security solutions, enjoying a worldwide market share of over 40% (IDC 2000). With impressive revenue growth over five years, David then led and managed a dual-track M&A and IPO process with the leading advisory team of Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan and Cazenove, resulting in a $15M private placement for the business in early 2000, followed by an intended London-based IPO in June 2000.
Ultimately, the MIMEsweeper business was acquired in October 2000 for $1Bn and David continued to serve as an Executive Vice President of Baltimore's MIMEsweeper division until his resignation in May 2001. In April 2002, David became a non-executive director of Clearswift, when it acquired the MIMEsweeper division from Baltimore Technologies, and he subsequently agreed to undertake an interim-CEO role at Clearswift from December 2003 until March 2005.; he was the Managing Director of the MIMEsweeper product division of Integralis, before orchestrating the management buy-out of the MIMEsweeper business to create Content Technologies. From 1992 to 1997, David was the Sales & Marketing Director and Board member of Integralis, overseeing the growth and expansion of a boutique IT training & consultancy business into one of Europe's leading IT security distributors and systems integrator.
