Began with caucus Twitter account that had 200 followers and 59 tweets. By the time I left the position, the account had around 1,350 followers and 1,700 tweets. Assisted with content management.
Worked with representatives to improve their social media presence as well. Assisted in the creation of accounts, content management, and consistency of posts. I also provided information for best practices of content, quantity, length, and social media platforms.
Through this position, I became very familiar with how to utilize Twitter. In this case, it was to reach a wide audience about the legislation that the Ohio House was drafting. I learned how to increase raw follower numbers, how to use existing resources to best network, how to produce content, how to utilize platforms such as Hootsuite and Tweet Deck, and overall how to utilize Twitter effectively to reach a target audience.
In addition, this position gave me an opportunity to work on improving my written skills when developing content for different platforms such as Blogger. I gained an extensive amount of knowledge on how to utilize different forms of social media such as Scribd.
Furthermore, I was able to produce brochures, newsletters, and other formatting items such as email blast platforms. I have extensive experience with Publisher, some Photoshop, and multiple web development platforms. Graphic design and spacial layout is one of my strong suites.
I had a great experience with an amazing team and learned outstanding hands-on experience utilizing social media. If a company is looking for someone who knows how to professional utilize social media, I am a qualified candidate with real world experience. From June 2011 to August 2012 (1 year 3 months) President @ Delta Theta Sigma is a medium sized social professional fraternity with a focus in agriculture. Most of our men come from rural backgrounds or are in agricultural majors. We have won a large number of awards, not only from our national organization, but from Ohio State as well. One of our biggest awards this year is Chapter of the Year. We also brought home the Most Improved GPA Award, as well as the Best New Member Training Process Award.
